Is this a serious question? The data itself isn't political, but the government uses it to divide people into groups. Identity politics.

I had a friend who was born in the 1940’s… his description of them was “they are the closest to us”… not exactly an enlightened opinion… many of them have one hell of a work ethic though.

Even within identity groups, there is intra-group discrimination. So painting people into groups to foment identity politics takes away the agency and ability of those group members to think individually for themselves.

I'm fine with different perspectives. That is great all across the board. That doesn't mean none of those perspectives aren't off the wall, extreme, or downright stupid. Blaming white men for the actions of someone who isn't a white man is far out there at best.
