Inconvenience is a subjective term. And in this country, you and your religion don't get to make the decision.

When I was talking about this issue earlier in this thread, I was talking about it in the context of a legal issue, and you said in response to that:

This discussion is all about morals.
Now you say:

you and your religion don't get to make the decision.
So if abortion is a discussion all about morals, and religion can't be part of it, you're pretty much giving the finger to anybody whose moral code originates from their religious beliefs?

When your religious morality attempts to dictate how everyone in the country should live I am reminded of division of church and state. I have said this plenty of times; don't believe in abortion? Don't get one.

There are more blatant examples (book banning for example) of how faith tries to push itself on the majority of Americans who do not want this foolishness.

Your arguments here are meandering all over the place. First you say that abortion is all about morality, then you say religion (the very thing that acts as the foundation for many people's moral code) can't be part of the discussion.

Now you say that the majority view is what is important. An (albeit small) majority of Americans oppose an assault weapons ban, yet you want to push it on everyone. A majority of Americans support at least some restrictions on abortion, yet you want none.

You really need to brush up on your rhetorical and debate skills because you seem to base your support for or opposition to government regulations on different principles depending on the issue. There's no consistency to your positions except that they generally lean left.

In regard to the abortion issue specifically, you outright refuse to acknowledge that there are competing rights involved and you hide behind nothing more than that piece of paper known as a birth certificate in order to support your extremist view.

I guess I look at all the violence that has happened by religious anti-abortion individuals against Planned Parenthood and it certainly creates a vivid distaste.

That is a red herring to the question of whether the unborn is entitled to any rights and at what point in time.

Keep spinning your wheels, it is entertaining to watch.

If they have rights, can I sue an unborn fetus?

A fetus is not considered a whole person, is it?

One would have to say no... which rights would you convey onto it? Due process? How would it respond or make a case for itself exactly?

Can you sue a 1 month old baby?

At that point it's born... Can you sue a minor under 12?

Probably not. But according to TC, a person's rights correspond to their ability to be sued. So I guess kids under 12 don't have rights?

The parents would be responsible for it's defense.

That's the best you've got?

Your argument just went from meandering to absurd. :lol I can't sue an unborn fetus, therefore, it does not have any rights :lol

Let me try this: Is there any point during a pregnancy, from conception all the way until the umbilical cord is cut, where the interests of the unborn fetus outweigh the interests of the mother?
