29 replies in and I have yet to see any attempt to answer my original question: Why does Biden need this legislation in order to shut down our southern border?
What do you propose he do in lieu of said legislation?

Who says he needs to do anything different than what he's already doing? Did you not read the original post or watch the video? His press secretary says:
"We are stopping the flow at the border. What the President has been able to do on his own, without the help of Republicans in Congress...the President has put a plan that is indeed, uh, the data is showing that it is indeed, uh, uh stopping, slowing down the flow of unlawful migration, and that is because of the work this President continues to do without the help of Republicans."
Biden has everything completely under control. Why does he need said legislation?

If a week is a lifetime in politics than 4 months is several lifetimes in a row. You really must learn to update your information based on current considerations. The Republicans are trying to impeach the DHS secretary for reasons nobody can figure out. Something about not defending the border or some such. This bill would massively help with that as border security is underfunded. But the Republicans oppose it. It gets in the way of the narrative they think will propel them to victory. It’s the most cynical and hypocritical thing going in American politics right now.

I think 2024 is gonna end up like 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023… the GOP is gonna get beat up at the polls. The backbiting and infighting is really bad in the party right now.

Do not get too cocky. I'll revisit this post when Trump is being sworn in.

How can I even respond to this claim when the bill is being written behind closed doors?

You can take note that people are trying to DO SOMETHING and the party that is screaming DO SOMETHING has a leader that is saying DO NOTHING BECAUSE I NEED TO RUN ON HOW BAD THIS IS AND I CAN'T IF ITS FIXED. Trump actively telling Republicans not to vote for it is the glaring sign you need that it'll do something and thus neuter his line of attack and he is absolutely terrified of that.

The state of Texas is trying to DO SOMETHING and Biden takes them to court over it.

Trump tried to DO SOMETHING by building a wall and Democrats fought him every step of the way.

Neither of those things does a damn thing. They have ladders and tunnels. That wall and this fence were nothing more than political theatre. These guys don’t give a damn about the border. Trump had 4 years to truly “solve” this and he couldn’t including as Honeyman said having all the marbles.

Lets not forget the retaliation "sanction" the Biden Regime just imposed on Texas by shutting down their liquid natural gas exports. Not only does it hinder the Texas economy, it bolsters Russia and China.

I guess it's to be expected when you're a Marxist Regime and in the pocket of both Russia and China because of multi million dollar payments over the years.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Biden is severely compromised, and elderly man that just does what he is told to do.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

A Marxist regime? Do you know what a Marxist is? Because it absolutely isn’t within a country mile of this.

Not only that but as usual you’ve been had on this LNG thing. They didn’t “shut down” Texas’s LNG exports. They put a pause on two new terminal projects there THAT DONT EXIST YET and a freeze on NEW permitting for approvals of natural gas export terminals. It wasn’t even a sanction for this border thing. There were a total of 12 projects paused and it was due to climate change. Even the Texas Public Policy Foundation which is a right wing group said nothing of the border but said a lot about a “climate agenda” as the reason why. Our oil and natural gas production has gone up significantly under Biden and environmental groups were thrown a bone. There are 7 terminals now and 9 more coming online through 2027. That’s right… this “Marxist regime” is gonna allow those exports to more than DOUBLE in the next 4 years. Those aren’t even part of this,

So physical barriers do nothing, but legislation is going to fix things?

By your logic, prison escapes would happen less if we rip out jail bars and just pass laws to hire more guards.

re: Bryce and audiophile - I'm sure you two will join me in laughing at how comical it is for the left to be blaming the migration problem on Republicans, and now, specifically, suggesting that if only it weren't for the Orange Man (who doesn't even officially hold any position of power), Biden would magically be able to fix this problem in his final year in office. All I can do is laugh at this logic. :lol
