Biden agrees to debate Trump

Post by TC Talks » Wed May 15, 2024 12:28 pm

I predict it will be like watching a dumpster fire. Both sides will lose, both will claim victory.
President Biden and Donald J. Trump have agreed to two debates on June 27 on CNN and Sept. 10 on ABC News, the first onstage clashes between the former president and his successor in more than three years.

While some of the details were still being hammered out, the agreement to the two debates, reached in a series of social-media posts Wednesday morning, raises the likelihood of the earliest general-election debate in modern history and immediately delivered a jolt of electricity to a campaign that had settled into something of a rut.
In the agreement, Trump can't use the word dementia and Biden can't use the word Stormy.

If either of them shits the bed on stage (or actually shits their pants), they could seemingly be replaced, right? Very odd to have a presumptive nominee debate...
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

It makes sense considering the amount of voting that happens in September and October now. By the time they commissions debates happen there are a lot of votes in the bank. There is zero chance either of them get pulled. Full stop. So them debating tomorrow would make sense.

I debated posting a new thread about believing Cohen 100% on at least one item: Trump absolutely wanted to avoid paying Stormy before the election and he would have stiffed her (no pun intended).

That note was a bit of a joke, but I so hope this gets dirty.

This is encouraging...
Tens of millions of dollars of advertising has not changed President Biden’s polling deficit. Donald J. Trump’s criminal trial has not altered the race’s trajectory. And Mr. Biden’s significant cash and infrastructure advantages have yet to pay political dividends.

So on Wednesday, the one weekday Mr. Trump is not confined to a courtroom, the Biden campaign shook up the race, publicly offering to bring forward the first presidential debate by three months. The move was meant to jolt Americans to attention sooner than later about their consequential choice in 2024. Mr. Biden’s advisers have long believed that the dawning realization of a Trump-Biden rematch will be a balm for the president’s droopy approval ratings.

The Trump team swiftly accepted. And Mr. Trump proceeded to do Mr. Biden the favor of lowering expectations for his performance, writing on social media that his rival was “the WORST debater I have ever faced.” The post was a preview of the insults to come, with Mr. Trump accusing the president of being unable to “put two sentences together” and calling him “crooked” three times.
