Eddie Money dies

Post by matt1 » Fri Sep 13, 2019 11:01 am

Singer Eddie Money has died of cancer at 70 years old. I saw Eddie performing only once with Edgar Winter & April Wine at Obijway Island in Saginaw back in July of 2005!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Money

Saw him a couple of times, both in Traverse City (once at the front entrance of Turtle Creek Casino on New Year's Eve and the other time with Night Ranger at the Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds).

He played Pine Knob/DTE many times, as recently as this Memorial Day weekend, which either was his very last show total or one of the last ones.

Also a top story on the websites of all three news-producing Detroit stations, to the point that many people would think he was a native Detroiter when he was actually from Long Island

Outside Detroit, it's not big news.

There are 2 different versions of the 1978 song "Two Tickets To Paradise" which the single 45 version is the recut version which Eddie is sayin' "Get your bags we got". That can be found on the CD "Playlist: The Very Best Of".

I saw that. I guess I meant to say he was much more popular in Detroit then other communities because he connected with that blue collar mentality.

The late Eddie Money had released "Brand New Day" on July 13 (first album since "I Wanna Go Back" remakes album in 2007 & brand new material since 1999 "Ready Eddie") of this year BUT it hasn't been released though. No word on a release date of his final album.
