Which Mark?

Nobody said anything about any Mark.

I worked with THE Mark, too. Glad that sentence is in the past tense.

But once again, HL101 derails his own thread. This isn't about his favorite topic (himself). In case HL101 forgot... It's about how all but one local media outlet ignored employee appreciation day.

LOL... I think everyone I know has been let go from WEYI in their career, including myself. That place was a hellhole and the management there were assholes. But that's how it was, and that's evidently how it still is. I was actually glad to not work there anymore... they did me a favor, when I think about it.

Hey Ed, I'll take the current "assholes" at 25-66 over the current management at WNEM. If making grilled cheese sandwiches accounts for bad management at 25-66, as HL101 alleges, then they are far superior than WNEM which doesn't give two cents about their employees on Employee Appreciation Day or any other day. I can confidently say the employees at 25/66 seem infinitely happier than 5 or 12 workers... who seem to be abandoning their respective ships to go to other markets, get out of the biz, or my favorite "spend more time with family."

Auto, I don't think I would want to work for 5 or 12 anymore. Personally, if I was going to go back to TV (it's not really my "niche"), I'd probably go to a PBS affiliate. Honestly, I literally worked myself into the ground for over 35 years, and it really took it's toll on my body. I really do miss working, but unless by some miracle my body starts to somehow repair itself, I don't see that happening. I have 50% heart function in addition to all the joint/muscle/bone issues, I get wiped out just keeping our yard mowed anymore. I *might* be able to handle something like an evening or overnight air shift, but that would be pushing it. Not that very many of those jobs even exist nowdays.

Ed, sorry to hear about your health.

Station managers need to do a better job watching over the well being of their number one asset: their people. Unfortunately, far too often, they only care about the bottom line.

Wishing you only the best and good health.

That's a thing across the country, across ALL industries. People mean nothing, profits mean everything. It's done major damage to our country, yet nobody will lift a finger in out government. Perhaps they know some extinction level event is coming, so nothing matters but the present, I really don't know.

I didn't get squat, so I'd take a grilled cheese. When you get something like a grilled cheese sandwich from an employer, it usually means that it wasn't paid for by corporate, but out of pocket by locals.

HL101: your incoherent ramblings continue to make absolutely no sense. You pick on 25-66 for actually doing something to recognize employees... yet fail to criticize other stations and your current employer who did absolutely nothing to thank their workers. Seems like you're the hypocrite here...

You’d have more respect for a homeless person than to offer them a cheese sandwich, so what makes it so great to offer it to the non-homeless?

Guess it’s slightly better than what cops give the homeless.

Here we go with the police BS again.

Agreed. There’s a lot of police BS going on and I’m just the person to expose it! Did you read what the cop did? It wasn’t BS, but dog S.
