Now that the whole world economy and life is virtually dependent on the internet to function, governments worldwide are using shutdowns to control the populace. This is not a so-called tinfoil hat issue that's just possible, perhaps conceived and being tested in the US, but fully implemented in a wide range of other countries, especially Third World countries, all over the world.

Suppose, that in an internet controlled economy where food is imported, access to your own assets is denied, and whole populations could be starved to death just like in the Soviet Union. I know that some of you here think that this is a good thing, and would do it in a minute to kill your political enemies, but it is just plain evil.

When groups of people and governments seek to control other people, not just supervise or govern them, this is what happens.
