The FEDERALIST and Susquehanna (!) of all places put out a bizarre poll yesterday…

It finds Biden at 49% disapprove and 45% approve. Fair enough.

But his marks on individual issues go a long way to explain why this is turning into some sort of word salad of results with no wave for either side. Only 52% disapprove of him on Inflation, 51% on gas proves, 49% on immigration and 47% on crime. Not exactly overwhelming. I would have expected much worse.

They have Biden winning a matchup with Trump 48-44 and Kamala Harris winning 54-39 DESPITE her favorability sitting at 52-33 unfavorable. So either something is wrong with it or folks would prefer a Democrat but a different one before Biden and Biden before Trump.

On the stroke issue. My son is recovering from one and while he has speech and movement issues, both are improving, his mind is still sharp and he works as a USAA rep working with folks who have auto accidents via email and chat. I am bothered by the use of his stroke as a reason not to vote for him.

I think I’m even more bothered by a supposed doctor doing the weaponizing of the stroke. It’s icky all around.

Things look like they may be tightening slightly… The Economist and YouGov put out a poll showing a shift from a 1 point Republican lead to a 4 point Democratic lead in a week. I still don’t think there is any red wave building. Gas prices are declining again and we just had a better than expected 2.6% GDP gain. This is gonna go down to the wire.
