African Americans are making poorer health choices than whites. That’s not being racist. That’s being observant and honest with the data.

What are the facts?? They keep comparing the death rates of A-A vs everyone else in the state with the overall demographics of the whole state. Yet the demographics of the SE part of the state is significantly different from the rest of the state.

And you're making the same mistake that (half) Whitmer and others are. You're comparing patients in limited geographic areas who are sick with the overall demographic makeup of the country or state.

Make an apples-to-apples comparison. What is the percentage of black COVID-19 patients in Detroit with the demographic makeup of Detroit, or, what is the percentage of black COVID-19 patients in Alger County with the demographic makeup of Alger County?
