The 97.1 afternoon clown show all but assured a Piston win last night.
Today they are all but assuring a Lions loss on Sunday.

Brian Chapman is proof that the primary "skill" to be a radio personality is the ability to shoot your mouth off without limit to avoid dead air.

Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
Looks at TV sports reports, the sports articles that get most prominently displayed online by the various daily newspapers, and the content of 97.1's shows in general. The Wings are fourth among our city's four major league teams in terms of screen time, airtime, whatever. They are boring. Not necessarily a bad thing, but only a small segment of the audience is passionate about Red Wings hockey.
Tom Gores' somewhat tone deaf remarks during his little conference call with the press corps yesterday has generated significant backlash and was definitely worthy of prominent on-air attention last evening. The guy thinks he should be immune from criticism because of the charitable causes he and the Pistons support in Detroit.

At this point they should be donating the tickets to the games to charity.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 6:59 amLooks at TV sports reports, the sports articles that get most prominently displayed online by the various daily newspapers, and the content of 97.1's shows in general. Is that your personal pecking order? Or is that a data driven pecking order? If so what is the data and the source?Matt wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 9:14 amWings are #2. Wasn't sure if it was a joke but I wouldn't have been totally shocked if AFC Ann Arbor actually outdrew the Pistons in actual attendance

Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
The Pistons are so awful that ticket purchases made prior to the season should be granted tax write-offs!
Gores is evidently trusting that raspy voiced jackass, Troy Weaver, to make personnel moves before the trade deadline. I mean - his track record has been so awesome so far, why not give him yet another crack?

126-115… make it 26 in a row… we have Brooklyn again next.
Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24

Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
Great game by Cunningham squandered. Nets went on a 13-0 run in the 4th quarter after trailing by 5. Inexcusable.
Pistons cut the lead to two with about a minute to go, but then the Nets hit a big triple.
Cunningham has played well lately. He's had 3 or fewer turnovers in 4 of his last 5 games, including last night. Last night was his second 40+ point game over that same stretch. He is also is being more selective on 3 point attempts.
I think the Pistons have a halfway decent chance of defeating the Jazz in the upcoming rematch.

Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
Cade played with more determination in the second half last night than I've seen from him in awhile -- shades of Isiah Thomas. Hopefully some of that will rub off on his teammates; I'd hate to see this team become a one-man band.
