This is great reporting by the Detroit Free Press
Their reporting of Ford vehicle maladies in recent weeks has been terrific, and the bombshell article about widespread, severe defects in 2020 Ford Explorers is definitely an attention grabber!

Thankfully, these vehicles are being fixed before they've reached dealer lots!
One cannot help but wonder if roll out of the new 2020 Ford Escape onto dealership lots will now be postponed.
Hopefully no one here owns Ford stock. I have a feeling Q3 and Q4 earnings are going to be a disaster.

I sold my Ford stock years ago. Bought when they were barely above $1.00. Should have held it longer.

Re: This is great reporting by the Detroit Free Press
Ford's common stock price is buoyed by an oversized dividend which is apparently sufficiently covered by quarterly cash flow; it helps keep the Ford family well-heeled and long-term income-oriented investors happy. Though Moody's recented downgraded Ford's debt to junk, the market's reaction was a big ho-hum. Ford stock has so underperformed the broad averages the past decade that it's hard to believe any prospects, positive or negative, haven't already been "baked into the cake". Past quarterly earnings reports have not precluded the stock from trading in a narrow range as the broad averages have soared to all-time highs; a comparative long-term chart is truly ugly.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 10:27 amHopefully no one here owns Ford stock. Unless they cut or miss their quarterly dividend, and notwithstanding any big spending on developing electric and autonomous vehicles, I don't expect cataclysm for the stock price, at most a 10-15% dip if earnings are exceedingly worse than expected. As the blind man said, we shall see.

A relative worked for Roush and the stories he told were amazing. He said the new Ford engineers are the worst, all foreign, just out of college.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 10:27 amTheir reporting of Ford vehicle maladies in recent weeks has been terrific, and the bombshell article about widespread, severe defects in 2020 Ford Explorers is definitely an attention grabber!

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Given the state of our education system, having someone from another country might be a bonus. For example, German engineering is the best in the world. Japan and South Korea also engineer tremendously successful vehicles.audiophile wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:16 amA relative worked for Roush and the stories he told were amazing. Look at any F-150 made in the last three years and how the blue ovals on the front and back tailgate have the blue tint weathering off. It is their freaking LOGO and they can't get it to last.audiophile wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:16 amA relative worked for Roush and the stories he told were amazing.
