Why is Penn State still in the B1G?

Most interesting about Glazer’s written decision is the very first sentence, one that should strike dread in the hearts of Penn State’s trustees. “This case arises out of a series of heinous crimes perpetrated against a multitude of children over a 40-year period.” Forty years. The reason Glazer chose that broad window is because he led off his entire ruling with an allegation that in 1976 a child told Paterno directly that he was sexually attacked by Sandusky.

Glazer also cited other previously unheard allegations that Penn State coaches knew of molestations by Sandusky and failed to act in 1987 and 1988. What’s more, he points out, “These events are described in a number of the victims’ depositions.”
Penn State should be shut down for allowing a culture of rampant child rape to exist for FOUR DECADES. That's not going to happen, and they're not dropping football. They don't belong in the B1G at the very least and should be given the boot.

The B1G is for losers overall...

100% agree. While we're at it, take that JoePa statue out of the warehouse and melt it down into leg irons for those assistant coaches that allegedly disregarded what was going on as well.

I agree with your post and Matt's post 100 percent. That institution, and the community surrounding it, are pure evil. It sickens me just thinking about it. There ought to be a LOT more people sitting in prison in connection with that situation.

A man who claims he was sexually abused at a Penn State football camp by Jerry Sandusky said in an October 2014 deposition that he reported the incident to Penn State head coach Joe Paterno the next day.

Paterno told him, according to the victims' report, "I have a football season to worry about."

Paterno then walked away with no further response, the victim said, apparently headed to a coaches' meeting.

The incident appears to be the 1976 incident that court papers allege was reported directly to Paterno.

The excerpt of the deposition was in a battery of court filings unsealed Tuesday in a court case involving Penn State's attempts to win reimbursement of civil settlement payments it has paid to Sandusky victims.

The man, identified as John Doe 150, said Sandusky moved his hand down his back and fingered his rear end in a PSU shower facility, and he immediately shouted out: "He stuck his finger in my ass."

Sickening. Anyone who still wishes to celebrate "Joe-Pa" should hang his or her head in shame. The man is a disgrace; I hope he's burning in eternal hell fire.

What a shame - only two months of real prison time ??? He should've gotten several YEARS of prison time.

I agree with Lester. Penn State needs to be disbanded and every building on campus should be demolished.

Jut to add some more dung to the already massive pile, apparently Penn State is also being sued after a student DIED during a hazing ritual at one of the fraternity houses on campus. I believe the kid died from an alcohol overdose (BAC of 0.26 or so) and no one even bothered calling for 12 or more hours after he slipped into unconsciousness.

As my American cousins would say: "y'all are callous mothafuckas!"

I wouldn't lose any sleep if Penn State were disbanded or taken over by another, more respectable university.

Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland could all leave the B1G and no one would bat an eye. I don't know why this conference thought it was so critical to expand east ... oh, that's right, it was to gain a foothold in the NYC, DC and Baltimore media markets. Yep, that's gone well. B1G should have gone hard after Missouri years ago and that'd have made 12 teams, 11 in the Midwest. Missouri is as awkward a fit in the SEC as Rutgers and Maryland are in the B1G and West Virginia is in the Big 12.

The whole Paterno family is one big clan of scum bags.

It's not often I give kudos to the NCAA - but they deserve it for this press release:
