I saw that. I wasn't watching the concert, but flipped to get the news and the concert was still playing, then they chopped it off and went to news. I was very surprised, especially since CBS has been widely promoting this concert for a while. I also thought it was supposed to be a live event, but later learned it was pre-recorded.

And I thought it was just our local CBS affiliate that did it, but now hear it was pretty much everybody.

If CBS really wants to make amends, for the rebroadcast, don't just add back in the 2 minutes clopped off of Piano Man but also add in the other 5 or so songs from the concert they didn't show. I'd give people who watched the first time a bigger reason to watch it a second time. According to https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/billy-jo ... a4b2f.html the concert was from March 28 and some songs were shown out of order and others cut completely to fit in the two-hour time slot that after commercials is about 90 minutes. The actual concert was a lot longer than 90 minutes. So CBS would have to start it at 8 or 8:30 Friday, they could get good buzz. When I was watching Sunday, I thought it was a local screw up, so I wasn't too surprised, this was a national mistake.

It is interesting that sometimes certain programs on CBS go past 11pm but they don't cut off the show right at 11pm for the news. But in this instance they did.
