106.7 Detroit is identical to 105.7 Columbus
Re: 106.7 Detroit is identical to 105.7 Columbus
Mr. Tater, Sorry to tell you from a professional standpoint, The New WLLZ is not even close to what The Drive’s stale format was. This format currently covers some Alt 106.7 tunes and Hair Bands Of The 80’s and 90’s some Classic Rock Standards It seems to cover a lot of music, The Drive was limited to what it play in the 2K’s The New Wheels is a much better format. It will do good as long as they freshen up the playlist on a regular basis. The Drive was mainly a hair band station, WLLZ 106.7 is more of a Hard New Classic Rock and Hard Traditonal Classic Rock Format. It’s just a hard edge station not your soccer Moms radio.

Queen doesn't suck, not by a long shot. How many bands can credibly play "Bohemian Rhapsody,"" We Will Rock You,"Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and "Another One Bites The Dust ? " Remember (I've spent 40 years trying to forget) Aerosmith's beyond cruddy 1979 cover of the Shangri-Las' 1964 hit,"(Remember ) Walking In the Sand ? "

iHeart music stations are all centrally programmed, with the same music logs per format. This should not surprise anyone, that’s been the case since “Premium Choice” was initiated in January 2009.

"Another One Bites the Dust" is the only song of theirs that I like hearing on Rock radio.Queen doesn't suck, not by a long shot. How many bands can credibly play "Bohemian Rhapsody,"" We Will Rock You,"Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and "Another One Bites The Dust ?
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is OK for broad-based Classic Hits stations (fits WOMC well, for example).
Paul Woods reminds me a bit of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets when he speaks!

Another One Bites The Dust was written as a disco song...
Music is my life.

I would love to hear "Flash", "Princes of the Universe", and "Who Wants to Live Forever" played. But overall I am happy to hear any Queen on the radio.

Close enough to the truth. It was either going to be a hit a Queen song ....... or a hit Michael Jackson song!stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2019 5:12 pmAnother One Bites The Dust was written as a disco song...
Jackson loved it so much that he threatened to record a cover and release it as a single if Freddie didn't, and that cinched it. John Deacon was going to make serious bank on that track no matter who recorded and released it. It was a matter or royalties for Roger, Brian, and himself, especially after a pissed off Roger agreed to do something he swore he would never ever do in any form. Deaky wanted the drums as dry as possible in order to faithfully create that Disco sound which meant Roger duct taping his snare and throwing blankets and pillows in his bass drum and toms. He was livid and told Deacon that he's only getting a 15-20 second track to loop to his heart's content ...... only for Jackson to pull that stunt!
