State of the Union Address

I had to laugh at a couple of zingers referring to Pelosi and Schumer...about fences and gates around certain people's home and the abortion law in New York... :rollin Just watching their facial expressions were priceless!

I watched most of it. Personally I found it kind of boring. But I guess that is a good thing. Democrats surprisingly clapped way more this time around compared to their somber faces a year ago where they acted like a bunch of spoiled brats.

A CBS poll found that 76% of viewers had a positive view of the speech while only 24% had a negative view. If those numbers are representative of all people who watched then he hit a homerun.

I was pleased he didn't waste any time on all that climate change garbage.

This was the greatest State of the Union Address ever. My TV ratings were even greater than Abraham Lincoln's.

Fake news. No Collusion.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Great “State of the Union Address” by a “Great President”. It’s a 10 all the way, Chuck and Nancy looked bored as Hell they just wanted it to end. I Think those two got something going on, They both were gazing at each other like they’re going to meet somewhere after the speech was finished, Just my take on the whole thing.

The last time that many Democrats were together in a group, all wearing white, they had hoods on too.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Mostly agree with this take. The poll is absolutely fascinating - you KNOW there were a lot of lefties hate-watching.

The women reminded me of the white shirt wearing people on The Leftovers on HBO.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

I cannot believe (well I can actually) how partisan the various cable news networks are! They need to cut the partisanship and just report right down the middle. You can definitely tell which network is for who. Guests on one network talks up Trump great and another trashes him like there is no tomorrow! Why on earth do networks try to push their own agendas? Why would they show bias? Is this fair reporting? Makes me sick...

If I were a mentally ill sociopath controlled by my NPD symptoms - who became president while H-U-G-E-L-Y losing the popular vote - and had an approval rating in the mortifying 30’s bracket - that SOTU sentimental sonnet is exactly what I’d spew.

I’d ignore every numerous failure and f—k up of my entire life - especially during my campaign, transition, and presidency. Then I’d spend a lot of my extended sermon trying to convince you that I champion those causes and persons which my behaviors clearly show I deride.

I harm living breathing children. So I would say and do things during my show and tell speech to persuade you that I adore kids. I am well known as a master bully. So I would say and do things during my speech to point out my sorrow for victims of bullying. I am infamous for five times scheming my way out of military service to my country and letting other Americans sacrifice in my place. So I would say and do things during my time in the bully pulpit to persuade you of my enduring respect for military service and survivors. I’m also a shockingly well known cavorter with and admirer of enemy tyrants and dictators. Going so far as to fashion US foreign policy to their needs and desires - while abandoning those of alarmed US allies.
Thus I would say and do everything I could to convince you I am not a traitor and not deserving of serious investigations into my extensive secretive conversations and collusions with Russia. I am reviled for my unprecedented presidential ignorance, ineptitude, incompetence, and daily incessant lies. So I would round out my SOTU message with fearmongering, disingenuousness, and sarcasm. And I would act as if the ever present danger of global warming - did not exist.

These would be the repeated patterns throughout my entire SOTU show. Preceded and followed by my grand entrance and exit. On my merry way to more of - what I always do.

Nice to see SG posting the same old bullshit - even more than 76-24, this proves the speech was a hit!

Every smear, slander and libel the left throws at him just blew up in their commie faces. All this stuff about Trump being a nazi? Oops, he just honored a man who defeated actual Nazis. I wonder how Tlaib and the anti-semite from MN who support Jew-killing terror groups felt about that? Proof the halocaust cant be denied and that Trump doesnt support that evil. But...he hates brown immigrants because hes racist. Sorry. His speech about trafficking and drugs was pretty convincing. But at least he disrespects women...whats that? Standing ovation from the far-left feminists when he brought up womens economic and political progress? And I cheered when he brought up the TRUTH about freedom and liberty, attacking socialism and correctly stating that its exactly what our country was founded in total opposition to. I was objective about Trump and kind of lost faith in him, failing to take him seriously anymore. Last night? He hit it out of the park. You cannot come up with a clear, coherant retort. I am now onboard for his re-election. Total game-changer.

I'm not commenting on support for or against the President, but do we really think the delivery of a SOTU address guarantees a re-election? I've always believed that actions speak louder than words, so do you think that what he "said" on one evening overrides anything he's "done", or is it his actions that determine his re-electibility (is that a word?)?

I understand that his speech may reflect what he's done 364 days a year, but if that were the case, I would be more comfortable making a statement on his potential next term based on that, instead of based on the consensus of his speech. For the record, last night's speech didn't change anything about my opinion of him or the state of the nation.

I've known great businesspeople to give awful speeches, but lead great companies through great things, yet I've known some true assholes to give great speeches but not be able to lead worth a damn. My question isn't addressing whether you like Trump and his policies or not, rather if you think the speech alone truly reflects if he will be re-elected. Your thoughts?
