The "other" Crowbar

Unread post by ftballfan »

On a thread talking about the passing of Crowbar (Canada) member Kelly Jay, someone brought up the American sludge metal band of the same name. They might be most famous for a couple of their videos being made fun of on Beavis and Butthead.
Beavis and Butthead 1 ("All I Had (I Gave)"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8e8Gfu9uoU
"All I Had (I Gave)" full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=407YNmRKvQs
Beavis and Butthead 2 ("Existence is Punishment"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLj8SUdaPqE
"Existence is Punishment" full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM2-iPAY2p4

This Crowbar had to have been one of the heaviest (pun intended) bands out there in the early 1990s

I was a fan of that band as a high school geek in the mid-90s. At that time, i was searching for the absolute heaviest music i could find.
One of the guitarists either used bass strings or all high E strings to get that really heavy, deep sound.
