I am thinking IH might flip 95.5fm.

95.5 definitely came to mind for me, too!

Here's one - how about B-Ninety-Sux (B96)? They've been getting their ass kicked by 103.5 Kiss FM for quite a while.

Given 95.5's legacy as a Smooth Jazz station, it would certainly make sense for that station to flip.

It would be interesting to see how well a Breeze at 95.5 would co-exist with 93.9 Lite FM (essentially, a WNIC clone). Such a notion isn't too far fetched. Look at 101.9 & 94.9 in Cincinnati, or 101.9 & 100.3 in Chicago.

Heck, closer to home - look at 95.7 in Grand Rapids during its "W-Lite" days and 100.5 in Grand Rapids during its Soft AC days. Those two stations, Mainstream AC and Soft AC, respectively, co-existed for many years.

Sounds like an attempt to draw ratings from WRME-LP without having to cater exclusively to David Eduardo's Demographics.:)

MeTV FM is the elephant in the room driving Chicago Format changes and tweaks.

Bear in mind 95.5 flipped away from its Spanish-language format a few years ago. :)

It's been Country as "Big 95.5" for the past few years.

You are absolutely right, I think, in suggesting the success of WRME-LP may be a motivating factor here. In fact, I would say the success of WRME-LP, WFEZ in Miami, and 98.1 The Breeze in San Francisco have been very influential in virtually all of the recent major market Soft AC flips.

I was surprised 95.5 didn't take a shot at Modern Rock when 101.1 was toying around with its "FM News" format. I thought that was a missed opportunity for iHeart.

95.5 had promise as a Country station during its first year, but once CBS woke up and fired its incompetent PD at US 99.5, it was game over. 99.5 had a resurgence and has been kicking 95.5's butt ever since.

Keep in mind David Eduardo's real name.

I'm surprised that "Me-TV" FM hasn't branched out to other outlets that have a Me-TV affiliate? It seems to me it would be a win-win deal like the old Radio Disney. Not that they should be Frankenstein LPTV audio, but buy-up some cheap underused AM stations or some of Cumulus' firesale stations for a local Me-TV. (ie: 106.5 Delta, 1520 Rossford...)
