Apologies for the load time slowness on April 25 & 26

Post by MWmetalhead » Thu Apr 25, 2024 5:31 pm

Those of you trying to load pages from the Buzzboard late this morning or this afternoon (April 25) may have noticed lethargic server response.

This was caused by the hosting company's server. A reboot of the server appears to have resolved the issue.

Thanks for your continued patronage of the Buzzboard!

It's still not great. Lots of guest users I've noticed.

I demand compensation for the inconvenience.

Lol. Thanks for the update. Thought it was a me-problem.

I've opened a support ticket. Keeping fingers crossed things will be back to normal by Friday.

I am beginning to think it is an issue with Sucuri.

It could be, it's slow when I use my native IP but when I use my VPN, speeds return to normal. This was the exact opposite with CloudFlaire.

Load time still sucks for me today. My hosting provider has yet to respond to my ticket, which is very unusual. They are either stumped or overwhelmed with server issues.

I will play around with Sucuri this evening.

I'm on the phone with InMotion Hosting customer support as I'm typing. Am optimistic this will be resolved soon!

I am hopeful the prior "gremlins" have been worked out. The slowness was not due to hacking attempts or from malicious code injection nor does it appear to be due to Sucuri.

There were some server software maintenance needs that were addressed this evening as a result of my call to customer support.

I'm assuming it's the Ron Cameron thread that fucked us over.

As an added bonus, the emoji display issue appears to be fixed. 👍

I cleared the cache several times; that's why prior logins were lost.
