Tesla Cybertruck is an incapable pile of rubbish

Post by MWmetalhead » Thu Dec 14, 2023 6:11 am

It got stuck on a dirt road that had some ruts and a bit of snow.

A Ford super duty F-150 had to tow it out. :lol

You've driven one? 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds. Not exactly rubbish. Those tires aren't designed for ORV conditions, just like most every stock light duty pickup. My Ridgeline would have been stuck too, but it gets 32mpg.

That Ford likely gets 16 mpg, and those don't look like stock tires.

Now, make fun of the idiot who took a stock Cybertruck off the trail with stock tires and I'd agree 100%. We get idiots like that up here (from the Detroit Suburbs) all the time.

When will you ever need 0 to 60 in 3 seconds except for a track? You won't. No one will. Tesla needs to learn how to build and service their vehicles. Fit and finish sucks. Yes I have been up close and personal with quite a few and they all suffer from that. The attorney who drives one from the office next door normally waits two to three months for repair work to be done. He bought a normal vehicle to use when the Tesla breaks down, which it does on a regular basis. He uses the Tesla as his weekend ride now because of that.

The Ridgeline is certainly quite good for what it is - a unibody vehicle designed for mostly paved road driving and medium towing (5000 lb towing capacity).

The Cybertruck, in contrast, strikes me as being designed as a status symbol for attention whores as opposed to practical utility.

Any vehicle with a decent AWD system, even with all season touring tires (so long as tread is decent), should not have gotten stuck on the road where the Cybertruck got stuck.

The conditions don’t really look that bad. But the cyber truck is clearly not designed to do practical hauling duties or really work hard. You can see that by looking at it.

Not good at hauling?

Tesla has never marketing this truck as a replacement for a Ford F truck. Pickup trucks accounted for 20.57 percent of all vehicles. Do these owners all need the truck to do more than pulling a trailer and hauling DYI supplies from the Big Box? No.

The owners of Teslas by and large would call someone else to do all that.

20% of cars sold in California last year were Teslas. It's becoming middle class.

There’s also a great deal of pressure and incentive there to go that way. Effectively those numbers are inflated. It’s only 5 and change percent nationwide.

That was not an attempt to disparage EV’s… simply talking about something that cannot possibly help if you add in things that demand lots of juice by the millions.
