Perry was one of the funnier actors on Friends. He was always candid about his drug and alcohol use. May he R.I.P.

I thought my drug abuse was bad. I heard he'd had something like 14 surgeries due to opiate abuse and even had his colon burst. I like to treat people like him as a cautionary tale. Get help now, stop using, and try and save yourself.

Doctors didn't expect Perry to survive his colon burst. In another case, his heart stopped beating for several minutes. When they were able to get him CPR, they ended up breaking his ribs. It takes a strong man to admit his problems with drug abuse.
