Anchor Brewing Company, America’s First Craft Brewery, is closing after 127 years in business. Thank you to our fans, our community, and the city of San Francisco for your support and love throughout the years.

Cheers, we raise an Anchor Steam to you

The employees are working very hard to buy the company out from it's holding company. In my opinion the current owners are being very lazy as there are numerous people ready to buy this brewery.

I'm not necessarily anti-union. They have a reason to exist sometimes. But was that timing cause-and-effect, or just a coincidence?

I'm fairly confident I'm not the only person here on Buzzboard seeing you calling someone an idiot, and thinking ... Ummm, okay.

Anyone still choose their swill over much better brewery offerings? I can’t believe they last this long!

It wasn't that horrible, but I agree that there are better options.

Sapporo ruined the company when they bought it.

This is consensus amongst the beer community.
