Subway sourdough bread??

Unread post by matt1 »

I wonder if Grand Rapids, Lansing or Auburn Hills, MI have Subway Restaurant footlong sourdough bread?? I cannot get it there in my hometown. :o  I did had a angus burger pattie back then in 2005 in Midland, MI BUT that was a limited time thing (looks like former chicken pattie) BUT I had that at Auburn Hills Subway in 2008 & 2009 when I was shopping at Great Lakes Mall BUT they don't have that anymore. I did had Rosemary footlong bread in Greensburg, Pennsylvania back in August of 2011 when I visited my relatives!! Since last year, they took off Lay's baked cheddar & sour cream chips!!

Back in 1998 I was the first person in my town to order a sub with the then-new honey oat bread. It was a big deal! They took my picture and it ended up being front page news in the Shopper's Guide. When they took it off the menu a few years ago, I was soooo mad! I wrote a letter to the editor of the same Shopper's Guide. It did work out for a bit - the Subway located in the truck stop down the road continued to offer it when others don't. But unfortunately they received a cease and desist order from Subway for their clandestine behavior. It was big news again in the Shopper's Guide!

Back in October 2008 I was riding with mother and we stopped at a Subway in Van Wert, Ohio. They were out of honey oat bread. I got white bread instead!!! The pop machine was broken so I had to get a bottle of Snapple.

I always get Italian bread when I go to Subway but have never seen Sourdough. I do like the new subway pro, as sometimes a 12in just isn't enough for me. I was up at a Subway in Monroe awhile back and they were out of almost every bread but wheat and Italian.

Good catch!!! I didn't proofread it enough before posting. I'm getting ready to reminisce about the time I visited Subway on Saturday June 22, 2013 and will be sure to properly emphasize my comments!!!!

Me neither.
I'm lucky to have a couple of pretty decent mom and pop restaurants near me that also have a drive thru window.
I do have a Subway closer. But no drive thru window.

So I tried Subway for the first time in years. BMT on wheat. Toasted with American. Spinach, green and yellow peppers. One tomato. Not the best bread but only $4.99 so not a bad value imo.
