Argentina's Missing Submarine

Post by 906XJ » Tue Nov 21, 2017 9:34 pm

This is really shaping up to be a heartbreaking story. If they are alive on the bottom their oxygen pots are running out right about now. They are cold, alone and about to suffocate.

The search fleet still has no idea where they are located.

I remember a similar accident about 10 years ago involving a Russian Sub. The Russians refused to accept any International help in the search. All aboard were lost and never recovered.

The Kursk.

Had the sub been stood on end the stern would have actually been sticking out of the water... that's how shallow it was... still too deep for an emergency evar.

They actually used diamond chains anchored to the sea floor to cut the sub apart... only leaving the reactor on the ocean floor to be entombed forevermore in concrete.

The public hearing damn near turned into a riot when angry family members lost it. There's video out there of a government doctor stabbing a sailor's Mother in the neck with a sedative that knocks her out. Then the jackboots removed her from the scene. Chilling stuff.

EDIT: The chains were carbide, and the reactor compartment was recovered. I was mistaken that it was entombed. It was the bow section that was left behind.

Not looking good at all. Now there is a report of an "undersea anomaly" that occurred on the 15th (The day of the disappearance) thirty miles north of the sub's last known position.

Was it the sound of an explosion, implosion, or the hull hitting the bottom? Well, nobody is saying at this point.

Here's the thing... if they thought the boat had survivors on it, they would be using more passive detection equipment... i.e. listening for the crew. As it stands though, it appears as if they are using active detection techniques.

This tells me they are looking at a recovery and not a rescue.

Yeah well... it looks like curtains for the crew... terrible.

The Argie Navy really screwed the pooch on this one as they strung along family members with false hope when it appears the boat was lost on the 15th.

Sub Ops was never their strong suit. Here's a clip of one of the sister boats surfacing in the middle of a children's regatta a few years ago.

Unfortunately this latest SNAFU cost lives.

Psalm 107:23-31

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
