It's rare around Tampa Bay that a day doesn't have at least some sunshine. But this was one of those days. Today's high 52 degrees. A cold, silver rain all day.

Normal for late January, low 70s.

It snowed quite a bit.
Wasn't snowmagedden but was a good amount.
I hate it

Just got in myself plowed all afternoon. I talked to my friend in Nome, Alaska this evening and she told me the temps in Nome for the week,
Tuesday High 14 Low 12
Wednesday High 18 Low 4
Thursday High 9 Low 6
Friday High 14 Low 10
Saturday High 22 Low 19 Snow
Sunday High 25 Low 20
It will be much colder in Detroit than it will be in Nome, Alaska

As far as big cities that aren't used to this kind of cold it looks like Chicago and particularly, the parts of the city furthest from the lake, will get the worst of this. Daytime temps Wednesday 15 to 20 below zero with sustained winds at 20 to 30 MPH making for wind chills as cold as minus 70. Some areas may not get above zero for a 60 hour stretch.

Also still looking like along the Michigan/Indiana and Michigan/Ohio border could see temps stuck at -10 to -15 degrees during the day Wednesday. That makes the high of +5 in northern Michigan look like a heat wave.

I just finished plowing all my restaurants and C-store properties an hour ago, Just before the deep freeze hits.

Then there's this which prompted a statewide EAS alert Wednesday evening.

65 is still better than what's on the other side of the door!

It's going to be in the 50s next week. So I've heard.
