Extreme cold air plunging down next week

Wednesday will be the worst of it. Look at these projected daytime highs per the GFS computer models. I don't ever remember a cold snap quite like this. Highs of colder than minus 30 F in much of Minnesota. HIGHS. Not lows. Highs. Negative teens for highs in parts of Ohio. Michigan will be spared the worst of it thanks to some moderation from the lakes, but still. This is COLD.

It will also effect us here in Florida. Normal daytime highs for late Jan and early Feb are low 70s. Predictions for all next week are days low 60s and nights upper 30s.

Today, in the Tampa Bay area, we only got up to 58.
The women who live here year round love it. It gives them a chance to wear their winter fashions. Coats, hats, scarves, MItts, snow boots.
