MRA Head (personal rant)

I feel the need to share my troubles.
No need to reply.

I just had an MRA scan of my head tonight.
I'm reviewing the images and there appears to be severe stenosis in the right vertebral artery... which would correlate perfect with the severe headache in the right back side of my head, which I originally was assuming was a flare-up of my cervical arthritis....

And while this potential serious issue is going on, I'm having severe abdominal pain that's been going on for many days.

Now if I go to the emergency room, they are going to think I'm nuts presenting BOTH of these problems.

Now I may have medical knowledge, but I certainly have not got my medical degree, so the only thing I really can do is go to the ER or see the doc first thing in the morning.

I just want to fucking sleep though.
I highly doubt I'm going to die before morning.
I didn't see any blood on the brain on the MRI image, and the radiologist would have seen that as well as he was present during the scan.

I had to be rushed out of it in a hurry though as I developed a reaction to the gadolinium...which is odd, because I've never had a contrast reaction before.

The paramedics came and attempted to give me benadryl but I refused as I carry a pharmacy with me in my jacket, LOL. So I took my own and declined treatment

Anyways, I felt the need to rant about my night and issues.
No need to reply as I said.
I just needed to write. Sorry

Our elderly neighbour, here in Florida was experiencing severe back pain, along with severe abdominal pain.

Turns out the abdominal pain was being caused by the pain killer medication they were giving him for his back.

Lol the good old Opioid Induced Constipation?

Also, most opioids just cause general abdominal pain shortly after taking it, more often if on an empty stomach.

I get that with Codeine. It's like a knife to the stomach.

I didn't take any opioids, just NSAIDS including aspirin, and I got constipation.
Now if I go to the emergency room, they are going to think I'm nuts presenting BOTH of these problems.
"Nuts"-the new presumptive diagnosis, assumed to be true until ruled out. Indulge me once more, as it is instructive, "When it comes down to just two, I ain't no crazier than you."-Sung by Bonnie Bramlett in "Only You Know And I Know".

If this is what you are getting in Metro Detroit, you need to go to Cleveland or Rochester, MN, pronto. Seriously, I would go out of state if your insurance covers it. I had one respected GI specialist in Metro Detroit tell my spouse that I needed to see a psychiatrist, pronto. Tertiary assessment, mild symptoms, secondary to depression, caused by an underlying physical problem. I lost 90% of any respect I had for doctors in Michigan.

And you want to get that Gadolinium out of your system. If you are due for a colonoscopy, you might want to get it, to get all that stuff out, and to R/O colon cancer, as bad as the antifreeze is to drink.

My insurance will only pay for emergent out of state coverage.

I do have a GI, but it takes like over a month to get in, and this isn't a wait a month kind of problem.
I'm probably just going to go to the ER. Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield is quite a decent one.

And yes I was actually supposed to get a colonoscopy last year, but it had to be cancelled due to insurance issues. (I switched insurance plans, so the authorization was no longer valid).

I have Blue Care Network, and they specifically state in my plan documents that they will only pay for emergency care out of state.

Gadolinium.

https://gadoliniumtoxicity.com/help/symptoms/

I think this is possible since they rushed you out. Even the medical professionals thought so. Even though it is safe, more or less. It looks like the Gadolinium goes out in #1 normally. Although the colonoscopy does flush out a lot of soluble stuff with all the water. You've drank enough "antifreeze*" when #1 and #2 look the same, just clear liquid.

*The prep IS a very dilute type of antifreeze. But it's polyethylene glycol, which is not absorbed because it is molecularly large, whereas ethylene glycol is small, molecularly speaking. I'd still find safe homeopathic fiber for long term use rather than long term polyethylene glycol, as long as it works.

zzand disclaimer. This is just advice from the internet. Not to be construed as professional medical advice. My advice, and someone seconded it, is go to Mayo or another tertiary clinic if possible with your insurance.

I went to a Neurologist at U of M back in 2016...
I waited 6 months for my appointment and I end up seeing a rather retarded medical student. I never even saw the actual doctor.
I was so furious at his incompetence.

I can't go to the Mayo Clinic, but I found one at Henry Ford in Detroit that seems perfect for the neurologic issues I have going on.
Getting there is the only issue now

Well something is.obviously going on down there.
My Bun/Creat level is low, my potassium is low.
I haven't been eating as much, but not any less than average for me, so I'm not starving myself.
On the plus side, my liver function tests are normal for once.
My D-Dimer level is only 170. I wish I got that result before I spent 400 dollars I don't have on that CT Pulmonary Angiography I had. I could have just got a regular CT with contrast much cheaper, but my doctor insisted he wanted to check for a PE. 🙄. He doesn't like when I argue.

I'm going to buy some gatorade and BodyArmor drinks to try and rehydrate myself. I just ate a banana
