Is there a way to do it without scanning? I’d find TV DXing much more appealing if I didnt have to rescan every time I do it.

You could dial in RF channel numbers followed by a 0 (like 16.0 if you hope to see CHWI) but scanning usually is quicker

You could also just punch in the RF number and nothing after the . or - depending on your set. That's how I got some DX catches on my decommissioned C2V, including my four total catches in 2017 of KDKA Pittsburgh (I dialed 25. and it showed up, even though it stayed 25.1 and 25.2 on my set due to WJBK).

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

The Zenith, and older clones branded "Insignia", are the favorite of DXers. They have a manual tuning mode where you toggle between actual RF channels.

Sansonic and Zinwell also have manual tuning.

The Digital Stream (Radio Shack) boxes have random access manual tuning. Pressing the dot (.) key followed by a number, takes you to that RF channel.

Interesting! I do have an Insignia. I never knew that method for tuning in an RF channel. I always wondered how to do that, especially if trying to tune it in but unable to scan for a channel. Thanks.

Here's something weird, if you go to GetTV's channel finder and enter a Metro Detroit zip code (like 48122), it says to watch on 38.3. But entering Flint's zip (48501) gets you 14.2. I think they still think WHNE is in Flint
