So who got snow today?

Here along the Lake Huron shoreline in Tawas, it has been raining all day. Haven't see so much as even a mixed in snowflake. A few days ago as soon as I saw the forecast for a southeast wind I knew it would be all rain here along the shore. Did the weatherman forecast this? Of course not. The computer models showed snow, so the forecast was for snow.

So what do the snow totals look like elsewhere?

Probably 2 - 3" in Traverse City, more coming. I caught the leaf clean up with two hours to spare.

London, ON

Light dusting on the grass when we awoke this morning. All gone by noon.

It's so good to be back from Florida and those 80s temps. NOT.

TT,

I was in London last Tuesday. Pleasant city.

We are getting hammered now, plows are out. I expect to awake to about 4-6" on the ground. It doesn't stop until Wednesday.

EDIT snow till Friday.

Still bare ground here. We have to be the farthest point north in this part of the Midwest that sometimes stays all rain when everywhere else gets snow.

You live at Alpena? I've never been there but I used to live on the Ontario side of Lake Huron, almost directly across from Alpena. Used to listen to FM radio from Alpena, before we had any local FM up there.

On our side of the lake we got buried under feet of lake effect snow for days on end, all winter.

I love Alpena. Used to fly in and park at the FBO at the Air force base up there, Was a really wild feeling being in the landing pattern with a C 330 while in a 2 seat Cessna 150. Then land on a 9000 foot runway.

Northville had grass covered this AM. All green by this afternoon.

Actually pass through every other day on the bus... Alpena is a stop and my bus decided it was a good time to regen (pesky emissions thing it needs to do once in a blue moon)... so I got to take in the snow for an hour... I’m in Northville as a home base... 4 hours Alpena to the other side of the bridge at 30mph tonight on US23... one of my next summer goals is to look around these little towns... Alpena seems decent...

Late morning hours on Friday, I had an inch on the ground in my backyard and a slushy coating in my front yard. It snowed moderately for several consecutive hours here from pre-dawn Friday through about 11AM. Probably a good 2 to 3 inches actually fell, but much of it melted on contact.

Early afternoon, the rain/snow line was pretty close to the Birmingham / Bloomfield Hills border. I drove across it twice in a span of about 90 minutes and it was pretty much in the same spot both times.

At the moment, there is a dusting covering my driveway and yard.

Roads are very slick in Metro Detroit this morning.

Down here tonight in Wood co Ohio, it melted as it hit the ground but my car had a coating on it when I came out of work tonight.

Started snowing here about an hour ago. Not hard. Not big Flakes. But steady. The ground is staring to whiten. I think it means business this time. I gassed up the snow blower today and started it, just to be sure.

It's way to early for this.
