Kenneth City FL. I believe it's their last store in the state. Every year when we go back I expect it to be gone. But it keeps hanging on. Looks like they haven't done any updating since 1960.

From the looks of it that store won't have to close. It'll just fall down eventually.

It could just charge admission and become a museum.

How many Kmart actually do even a decent amount of business? Only one I hear about is Guam.

It sells more Spam per year than any other retail outlet.

Way to keep up on global Spam futures. I heard The Dollar General took the lead.

Spam is extremely popular in Guam so I hear. It’s the busiest Kmart, so that makes sense. The fake meat is also big in Hawaii.

Will WLS in Chicago consider changing its call letters since Sears is going under? WLS = World's Largest Store (Sears). I doubt it.

Perfect location. Guam is a fairly small island. Not like there's anywhere else to go.

Spam has a long shelf life, so they don't have to worry about inventory going bad. The cans are probably from 1942.

I'm surprised Kmart hasn't sold that one as a going concern to either someone based on Guam or to Walmart

Don't know if they have a Walmart, but I know there's a mall in Hagatna. I stream their news/talk station KGUM once in a while and hear spots for it. Oddly, I can't say that I've heard a KMart ad. Maybe business is good enough that they don't have to buy time. It'll be interesting to see what happens to that store if (okay, when) the whole company goes bust.

There is a completely autonomous company in Australia that licenses the "Kmart" brand, and from what I understand, Kmart is very successful in the "Land Down Under."

From what’s I’ve read, Guam does have a local supermarket chain, but Kmart is generally cheaper on home items. I have never heard of a Wal-Mart on the island.

I’m actually heading to Guam in a couple of months so of course I will see a living Kmart. Not used to those on the mainland!
