Woman reportedly flattened vehicle tires, took kid's bike

By STAFF REPORTS | Daily News
Published: Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 09:12 PM.

NICEVILLE - A man called Niceville Police Officers just before midnight on June 16 to report that his wife had flattened his tires on his truck.

The man said she'd flattened two tires on the truck and left on a bicycle, according to the call log. Police spoke to a woman who was out in the area, but it was not the man's wife.

While checking the area, they found that the man's wife had pushed a kid off a bicycle and stolen the bicycle, the log said. They searched the area for the woman, including nearby motels, but were unable to locate her.

Police noted that they would apply for a warrant for her arrest, according to the log.

NICEVILLE - Police were called for a fight at Tom Thumb between two women during a custody exchange.

Niceville Police officers were called around June 10 for a disturbance at Tom Thumb, according to the call log. The disturbance started out as a verbal argument during a child exchange.

The man's ex wife and his current wife had an argument that became physical in the parking lot, the log said. The current wife put her arm up to "keep the ex wife out of her face" and the ex wife grabbed her arm and scratched her.

The man left both women at Tom Thumb and took the children home before going to the police department, according to the log. No charges were filed because both women were found to have an equal part in the fight.

NICEVILLE CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBER ARRESTED

A man who tried to rob a convenience store in Niceville December 22nd
then walked to a nearby store and called his Mom for a ride home has been
arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have charged 22-year old Zachariah Dalton Howard of 108
Oak Shores Drive in Niceville with one count of robbery.

They say Howard went into the Thumbs-Up Convenience Store at 4200
Range Road around 10 p.m. December 22nd dressed in a long black coat,
hoodie and blue jeans. He told the clerk he had a firearm but never showed a
weapon. He left without getting any money after the clerk showed him an
empty cash register drawer.

Howard says he when we went to the store he didn’t originally intend to
try to rob it, but came up with the idea while walking there. He added that
after he left he went to the Winn Dixie and called his mother for a ride
home. He said he never had any weapons.
He was arrested December 29th.

Police blotter: Report of gun results in arrest of 2 teens for drugs
By staff reports

Posted Nov. 21, 2015 at 5:30 AM

NICEVILLE — Two 18-year-olds were arrested after officers received a report of a gun at a 23rd Street address.

Niceville policemen checked out the area and found three teenagers in front of a house with open containers of beer on their cars. One teen was 16 years old. The other two were 18 and identified as Alexander Ray Nichols of Crestview and Jacob Ryan Bundy, also of Crestview.

When asked about the beer, Nichols answered, “I was redoing the house and I wanted to relax and drink a beer. What is wrong with that?” an arrest report indicated.

Bundy allegedly told an officer he had 50 tabs of acid in his back pocket.

When officers searched Bundy’s car they found a backpack belonging to Nichols containing a Hi-Point CF380 with a spent round in the magazine, and two .380 rounds in a second magazine. They also found a digital scale with a green, leafy material on it, and a sandwich bag containing a green, leafy substance. It tested positive for marijuana.

The “acid” was tested and came up as methamphetamines.

Bundy was charged with liquor possession by somebody under the age of 21, and delivering/distributing methamphetamines. Nichols was also charged with liquor possession, plus drug equipment possession.

Nichols’ court date is Dec. 1. Bundy’s wasn’t listed.

Police blotter: Man arrested after officer finds coke in his pocket

Posted Dec. 11, 2015 at 4:00 AM

NICEVILLE — A young man was arrested after his grandmother told police he was trying to break into her house, and a police officer found cocaine in his pocket.

The incident occurred at a Niceville Avenue residence, according to a Niceville Police Department arrest report. A woman called 911 and said her grandson, 21-year-old Zachary Charles Laubsch of Niceville, was trying to get into her house.

An officer responded and found Laubsch sitting in a chair at his residence, which was next door.

When asked to show his hands, Laubsch allegedly pulled his hands out of his pockets, but then put his right hand back into his pocket. The officer drew his gun and ordered Laubsch to show his hands. He did, the officer put away his weapon, and searched him. He found a jew-eler’s bag with a white powder that tested positive for cocaine.

Laubsch was charged with cocaine possession and drug equipment possession. His court date is Jan. 5.

That's the first time I've heard it referred to as "drug equipment". Makes it sound like the kid had a power drill and a backhoe.
