I was boycotting the cans. The employees of the can maker were on strike. That strike ended about 18 months ago.

Don't know how you done it, but you done it. Gotta be some kind of witchcraft. Either that, or you have ties to Canada's Liberal Party.

The Side Launch Brewing Company is located in the town of Collingwood ON, about 80 miles north of Toronto. The Side Launch brand pays homage to the town's ship building heritage. For more than a century, Collingwood was home to Collingwood Shipyard. My grandfather lost his life at the shipyard and my uncle lost an eye there. At the time of it's closure, it was owned by prominent Liberal, sleazeball politician, Paul Martin.

The Martin family also owns Canada Steamship Lines. None of the ships in the CSL fleet fly the Canadian flag. They all fly the flag of places like Panama or Liberia. In that way they can avoid Canadian standards for seaworthiness for their vessels and Canadian Labour Standards. Also they avoid paying taxes in Canada.

In 1986, Martin made the decision that he could have his ships built cheaper offshore. The land on which the shipyard was located would be worth more as development property. Today, on the land, are hundreds of vacation condos and a yacht basin for Toronto's wealthy elite class.

Martin later went on to become Canada's Finance Minister and then Canada's Liberal Prime Minister. The short lived Martin regime in Ottawa was one of Canada's darkest periods.

Their Brewmeister has a pretty interesting story too. He used to work at Molson until he met a brewer from Germany.

If you ever taste this Side Launch swill, you'll know why Molson fired him.

Well done. When did they adopt their current team logo? I don't remember this one at all. I had to quiz other customers in the store to find out which team this logo represented.
