You should hope you get like Vic and not like me. Vic and I have had some minor disagreements but I regard him as one of the finest and most decent people on this board.

Not at all... but you’ve lost it here. You can think whatever you want but around here it’s very apparent you will be flayed alive for saying what you said... based on the reactions from everybody else you lost this one...

If you want threads with a point don’t come to the freewheeling section of the board either...

He's decent. That's the definition of decent.
Attacking, insulting, and ridiculing people is not decent.

I have had pleasant conversations on this board with many of you, including stopnswop2 and Oldies 84. You each contribute something unique. But also, Vic has been around this board as long as I have, and has proven to be a man of integrity and wisdom. He may call you out for something he disagrees with, and he will definitely get your attention about it when appropriate. Some things in life aren't cuddly, especially disagreements, but when it happens, we should all try and learn something from it, regardless of ego or how we felt about being called out.

Stopnswop's apology is a great example of someone moving past the ego and learning from the situation, regardless of who is at "fault." We should all learn from that as well.

No, nobody should be "flaying" anyone.
When 2 people don't agree on something, you don't attack them.
Didn't you learn in preschool how to behave?

What happened here was the appropriate way.
Bryce nicely explained why it was offensive, and I read it, understood, and then I apologized.

That's how you solve a problem.

No that is absolutely NOT okay. You don't get to stomp on people no matter who you are. Everyone should treat each other with respect. Nobody is above anyone here.
MW is the site owner. You don't see him going around flaming because he's the boss. He is very respectful. A great example of an admin.

You know the other guy does have a point... you should keep the flaying to a minimum... I highly doubt he meant the harm you were frothing about...

Vic has come after me for my views on LL Bean and he has defended his middle class from my criticisms. That's all fair game. I don't believe there's any ill will between us.
