This was a great era for Johnny's show. In 1980, the show switched from 90 minutes to 60 minutes. I enjoy seeing the 90 minute episodes especially on the Antenna TV network.

Unfortunately, don't have an Antenna TV affiliate here... Although, even if we did, can't really get OTA anyway, so...

That was some good "old school hollywood" right there.

Drunk on-air and it was a laugh.....

i'm sure he drove himself to the studio too.

It was shtick...executed brilliantly. Fast forward to the very end of the clip. Martin off mic but on camera upon conclusion of the segment is visibly laughing so hard, he's almost in tears and rolling on the floor!

I wonder if Johnny or Bob Hope were "in" on the gag.

In the same vein, Bob Hope and Dean Martin are with Johnny. George Gobel comes out. Its comedy gold. Dean keeps clicking ashes in Gobel's drink when he isn't looking. George says one of the funniest lines ever uttered in this clip. Johnny looses it.
