Tropo 6/25
As mentioned on another thread, this has been a great week for DXing. From my home in Toledo, it didn't disappoint as I was able to pick up stations not normally received in Toledo. I was able to pick up 107.1 in Port Huron, Cool FM 106.3 in Sarnia and what I believe was 103.9 in Windsor. They were playing Jazz and Standards. While 103.9 was a bit staticky, 107.1 and 106.3 both really came in almost like locals for well over an hour. Probably one of the better DXing results I've had in some time.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be on the lookout here in London ON.
What kind of radio were you using?

Nice. I've always wanted one of those. What are you using for a antenna?

On the topic of radios, I finally scored one of these in good shape for relatively cheap. It has some of the, I guess the word would be "cleanest" and "clearest" sound quality I've ever heard in a radio. And upon taking it apart for cleaning, I discovered a 5-inch Pioneer speaker.
btw - the model is a Sony ICF-9650w

If it goes missing, tell the cops to come look in my house.
I have one of these but it sold under the Radio Shack brand. It's a pretty decent radio too.

Younger people may not understand how to use an Analog Dial !
Reveivers are only as good as the antennas you use.

True, but I've found that you have to add a tuned circuit or two between the antenna and an average receiver, even with a good antenna, to get comparable performance. I once got WQTE..WHND...WRDT 560 90 miles away on a Hearever Crystal Rocket Radio with a 40 foot wire and a one transistor tuned preamp. Seems like I added another LC stage. Wish I had made circuit diagrams of my casual experimentation. It was just 40 kHz from a 15 mV/m local signal.
