Politics on tv stations

Post by Deleted User 7620 » Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:32 am

For the most part, I think our local stations do a decent job of being objective and not letting politics influence how they deliver the news.

Fox 2 shows a little in ‘Let it Rip,’ but even then, they let both sides give their opinion. This is a lot, coming from a Fox O&O, where the owner is ultra conservative.

This is why I’m glad 4 and 7 are not network owned and operated. In today’s political climate, I’m not sure either would be objective as ABC or NBC owned stations.

I knew "O&O" would be in this post before clicking it.

I read the owner is not ultra conservative, but Fox News airs what it does because it makes money.

I also read local stations are not connected in any way to "Fox News."

Can't remember sources.

Objectivity is a myth. All humans have biases. ( Though the unthinking ones let them permeate every aspect of their being .) A journalist's job is to recognize his/her biases and remove them from their reporting as much as humanly possible .

You think that just because someone local owns the station that they are not a corporate run station?

You are very naive. I don't think you understand how media works.

There is NO news station that is not owned by one of the 6 owners of network television.

4 and 7 are not network owned and both deliver the news objectively. They aren’t MSNBC or FNC.

This is local news, not national news.
