"Dayton" anyone?

The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

"Dayton" anyone?

Post by WOHO » Mon May 15, 2017 9:44 am

Anyone going to the new 'Dayton' Hamfest? Don't know if it will be a good year to go, or if there will be so many growing pains that it isn't worth the extra half hour to nowhere to look around? Thoughts? Cheaper to buy on fleaBay than drive for 3.5 hours?

I was thinking about doing a one day trip on Friday. Got the day off already.
But wanted to find out, is 75 still one lane between Toledo and Findlay?
That and some crummy weather would pretty much put the kasbosh to me going.

This Friday, Sat and Sun jry. I believe that it's supposed to be half way decent Friday, just hot. Have no clue how disorganized it will be with their first year at a new facility and the satellite parking and all that crap.

Think I'll wait and check out the inaugural Great Lakes Hamcon in October.

I have been trying to get to Dayton (now Xenia) for 55 years for the HamVention. I visited the city a few times when I had a friend who was in my classes at De Vry, who lived there, but not during the big event. Always seems to be something going on here on the big weeekend.

This year My son is just finishing the move to a new house and Saturday I will help him finish moving items from storage to the new place and Sunday they are having a Dinner for family and friends to show off the new house.

The picture says it all. Tire tracks.
For some reason, they let people drive around the flea market while it was open.
IMO that's what made it so muddy and ankle deep.
In the dozen times I've been to Hara, I never seen vehicles allowed to drive around in the flea market during open hours.
