Adult Swim

Post by sfpcc » Fri Feb 28, 2014 9:59 pm

Does anyone out there watch, or are familiar with Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network? I've been having trouble sleeping at night so I've been watching it a lot. They've been showing lately some of their older programing: Sealab 2021, Space Ghost Coast To Coast, and The Tim And Eric Awesome Show Great Job. If you like weird disjointed humor it's great. I'm still trying to figure out if The Tim And Eric
show is funny. If you've seen it you might know what I mean.

Those are outsider programs. Part of a broad outsider movement in the US. Tim and Eric had a good 4 year run, the Cinco year wasn't as strong, and the movie Ab-so-lutely blew. The first few Dr Steve Bruhle segments were as funny as comedy gets.

The guy who says "Ab-So-Lutley in the video logo is Tim Heidecker's father. It came from a video tape made in 1991 after coming back from a vacation.

I rented Tim And Eric's Billion Dollar Movie after Roger Ebert gave it zero stars.

The movie was really horrible. It had nothing fresh and the "shock" value of some of the bits didn't resonate with existing fans, nor people who were seeing it for the first time. A classic case of jumping the shark.

The Bruhle spin off is ok, but not great.

i wish adult swim would put beavis and butthead on there, instead of the cleveland show POS, so its not dominated with seth macfarlane.

Why do they want to have you and G G on there?

I love Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Went to see the first movie in the theatre. No one was there... My wife was freaked out by the big exercise robot. Squidbillies is awesome. Accurate depiction of conservative America.

There was a show on CBC a few years ago called What It's Like Being Alone that would be perfect for Adult Swim. It was about weird kids at an orphanage and ran about 13 episodes, (which would work for the cartoon network.)

I like Home Movies, The Oblongs, Mission Hill, Rick and Morty, Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, Tim and Eric, and Space Ghost. I can't stand Squidbillies, King Star King, Sealab, Childrens Hospital, or 12 oz Mouse.

I think that they DID have Beavis and Butthead on some years ago. Then they dropped it for some reason.

No they didn't. You're thinking of when MTV revived it in 2011.

I haven't watched a lot of it in a while. Now I'm hooked on Barney Miller reruns, (in the next few night they are show the final seven episodes.) Before that I was watching Night Gallery.
