Re: Coming to 106 KHQ
Midwestern Broadcasting is probably the gold standard for loyalty to talent. In more cases than not, it has lent for a greater advertiser loyalty. Especially at WTCM-FM, as Mike Sinclair and Carey Carlson have both been there for close to 20 years. Jack O'Malley was there for over 30 years before h...

Re: Old soundchecks and TV commercials for West MI radio stations
I find it hard to believe that 102.9 WFUR at one point had more listeners than 93.7!
Also on page 171, the Flint ratings are shown. 102.5 went from an also-ran to dominant #1 in a year!

Then there are the 104.7s in Columbia, SC (WNOK) and Charlotte, NC (WKQC). Both are heavily directional but do run 100,000 watts in the direction away from each other.
There do appear to be some hills between Baltimore and York.

Ouch for Big Country! Just since spring 2021, they've dropped over half of their shares, which is somewhat remarkable as the market boundary change should have helped them out on paper (by taking out some very strong WTCM counties)

Re: JoJo Girard’s last day at WFGR
Could 98.7 flip to a near-clone of 102.5/104.9 in Kzoo/Battle Creek? It is different enough from Magic 104.9, which is straight-up Hip Hop nowadays.

Re: Holy shit, 9&10 has a new logo.
If anyone is good at Photoshopping, how about making a mock up of the new logo by adding the CBS eye and the call letters? Maybe put the call letters under the 9 and maybe superimpose the EYE at the 9 o'clock position a little? The yellow isn't very flattering tbh. Ask and ye shall receive: https:/...

I find it odd that both WSDS and WGVU/WSLI have licenses to increase power at night. Are there daytimers by choice on 1480?

104.9 puts a good signal into Albion (which is 30% African-American), but that town is one of the poorest in the state and its K-12 schools were so bad that it was forced to consolidate into Marshall schools

Re: JoJo Girard’s last day at WFGR
It makes me wonder if Townsquare might kill off (or downgrade) WFGR and move Magic 104.9 to 98.7

Re: Z93
I have the RadioLand app (which shows signal strength using Longley-Rice models) and of the CHR/Hot AC signals, it shows the following signal strengths: 92.9 WJZQ - 54 dBu 96.3 WKLA - 59 dBu 101.1 WIXX - 51 dBu 102.7 WMOM - 55 dBu In my experience, WJZQ seems to overperform slightly, while WKLA unde...

Re: Old Cable TV Line ups(New thread)
Did WWTV and/or WGTU pre-empt network shows in 1988 (or did WBAY and WZZM air syndicated shows that went uncleared in Traverse City)?

Re: 102.5 serving Hillsdale and Adrian to flip to K-Love or Air1 soon
Started as AC "Mix 102.5" then flipped to Hot AC somewhere along the way. I remember listening to the 2001 American Top 20 (Hot AC) year-end countdown on 102.5 when I lived in Saline that year. Kinda surprised Smile FM didn't snap this up first. IIRC they don't have a signal in that area. I think S...

I think I saw that WGTU aired Sesame Street for a couple of years, but WGTU didn't make it to the UP until after WCML came on.

Has Star (265kW) ever been this far behind Joy 99, which is a Class A rimshot from Holland?
