He'll need to get bolt-ons and transition in order to have any chance at WDIV.

Re: Fox 2 :: Your PQ Sucks
I figured out some of the issue. 2,4,7 are carrying WMYD on their legacy streams in order to use WMYD's license for ATSC 3.0.
But holy crap is the ATSC 3.0 PQ awful, and the lighthouse station is making everything else awful.

Re: Fox 2 :: Your PQ Sucks
I had a chance to gather some data today. ATSC3...they're not even trying. Not sure how they think 8 megabits is acceptable for sports with MPEG2 encoding, but hey, that passive income from showing old TV shows I guess is too hard to pass. https://i.ibb.co/QJJmdgT/Screen-Shot-2023-09-09-at-12-09-12-...

Re: Fox 2 :: Your PQ Sucks
Is this only on the 3.0 broadcasts, or are you seeing this on their regular channels? I have not seen any of their 3.0 stuff yet. No, it is everything. The halo effect around people (more like a watery ghosty outline) was coming from network and was confirmed by looking at Fox 36 out of Toledo as w...

Fox 2 :: Your PQ Sucks
Dear Fox 2, Your picture quality sucks. Now I know some of the motion artifacts are coming over the network, especially that halo affect around players because of the grass, but holy crap if I were AT&T, I'd ask for a refund for that mottled paid graphic over the score. Channel 7, you're not far beh...

Re: Boblo Boat Documentary: Watch the special live Sunday night on Local 4
The show made the restoration controversial because racism and Detroit's neighborhoods have been neglected. Those boats are in no way a warm soft fond remembrance of days past because for older black citizens of Detroit, they represent segregation. Segregation that was shamelessly defended to the b...

Ha! That was funny.
General manager Bobby Ellis was Bernie's lackey in the 90's, sadly Bernie isn't going anywhere with Ellis at the helm unless Bernie wants out.

Re: Update - sale of WDRQ to Family Life Radio CONFIRMED
This is how the AM band marked its decline, the religious broadcasters piled in one after another as corporate radio sought to put its money elsewhere.

Re: NBC Nightly News on MeTV
That sounds like an engineering f-up. I bet someone patched incorrectly or moved video to where it is not supposed to be. Or in the case of network switched video, didn't program something correctly.

It's become quite evident why Mike Wheeler didn't survive in the Atlanta market. Terrible programmer.
Rake around it and light it on fire.

Re: C'mon Kim Adams - get a clue...
I cannot stand Kim Adams. Classic sociopath. I celebrated when she left the first time and was pissed when they brought her back. She reminds me of the character from the movie “to die for”. Manipulative and vain, shallow and untrustworthy, self centered and cruel. Holy crap. She's just someone doi...

Re: C'mon Kim Adams - get a clue...
Does she have any idea what the hell she's talking about? No, because she's a product of a broadcast diploma mill. Ashlee does a better job because she is sharp enough to know that all she has to do is read the work that's already been done for her in their software and the NOAA weather forecasts a...

Re: Potential for major severe weather outbreak tomorrow (Wednesday)
NOAA Weather with Android, I haven't found anything close with Apple. There isn't anything on IOS worth a crap since Apple killed Dark Sky. Their own integration is so unreliable for text warnings, I built my own system to send me and the old lady SMS messages for AWIPS sourced alerts. It works lik...

Re: I guess local TV stations no longer broadcast weather warnings?
I honestly think the NWS and the media outlets dropped the ball. I wouldn't say dropped the ball, the storm looked deceptively tame. I was a few miles to the west of the path and the only clue was hail that looked like the tiniest of sleet pellets and a sudden torrent of rain. The usual signs just ...

Re: I guess local TV stations no longer broadcast weather warnings?
Most stations have a computer system that requires manually triggering the mapping or ticker. This is something every weather team has fought against but is a byproduct of the supplier of all the weather systems. Unfortunately until something large happens and nothing is triggered it won't change h...
