Re: The "personality" of radio stations
As an example of a station that was entirely sat-fed with "Coast FM" branding, 97.7 WMLQ in Manistee, after that was made a simulcast of 98.7 WLDN Ludington, moved "Coast FM" to 101.5 WMTE in Manistee. While it is still mostly sat-fed, there is now a local morning show during the week from 6 AM - 9 ...

Re: Old cable lineups
The * channels were premium channels which we didn't pay for, but I remember a trick for mostly getting rid of the scrambling - put our TV on channel 4 instead of channel 3, and while that put all the channel numbers off by 1 on the converter box, with perfect fine-tuning on the converter box and o...

Re: Old School 7&4, 29&8, WFRV/WJMN, WLUK
Yes, they still have transmitters there. It's like a time capsule without the camera equipment and news set. Desks and studio are still there. The studios were used there until 1972 when they were consolidated over to TC. I was just surprised someone was actually there. I have never seen a car ther...

Re: Old School 7&4, 29&8, WFRV/WJMN, WLUK
There was one in Petoskey in the 90s, but that is the only one I know of up there. I always wondered why the don't use the Cheboygan building anymore. But if you don't have the advertisers, why stick around to cover the area...Milk wrote:

Re: Old School 7&4, 29&8, WFRV/WJMN, WLUK
http://logos.wikia.com/wiki/File:TV7.jpg Found this on the floor of the old WTOM studio outside of Cheboygan this past summer. Used to hang on the wall with double sided tape for the camera to capture. From what I've been told, the last news casts were done there in 1972 before being consolidated t...

Those are great! I don't remember "24 Hour Weather" though. I was just a young kid in the 90s though...
I have the 7&4 Anniversary special on tape somewhere. Wish I had 9&10. I hope 29&8 can pull something for their 50th in 2021
