Re: Fillings

The metallic amalgam in old style fillings could act as a rectifier diode (like that in an old crystal set, detecting amplitude modulated (AM) signals. You would have to be nearby a strong RF field for that to happen. Same for any metal-to-metal junction. Besides kitchen appliances, there used to be...

Re: 102.7 K-Love is now broadcasting from Oak Park

On the Radio-Locator.com page, clicking on the link for Transmitter Location 42° 28' 16" N, 83° 12' 01" W
redirects to Google Maps, which identifies the site only as 'WQRS-FM Detroit Radio broadcaster"
Seriously, Google?

I gotta rescan!
If a station's RF channel has already been scanned in on a receiver, any added-on "dot" subs should just appear and not require a rescan. Some sets might want you to check off in tuner settings whether or not you want the new sub as a "favorite" to be in your Ch. Up-Dn selection.

Just so long as they get rid of the fill in that is on there now.
There's more than one fill-in at Fox2. What or who "now" are you talking about? IMO, two I"m aware of, Lori Pinson and Jill Washburn, are excellent, both are degreed meteorologists and know their stuff.

Fox2 job postings

WJBK Fox2 has posted a number of job openings. Some in sales, technical and graphics areas, but interesting that one is for "Meteorologist, Regular, Full-time."
Adding on, someone leaving, or part-timer/temp changing status?

Re: WHPS 15.1

Not a hint of any signal on RF15 inside the city limits (NW).Could be that my UHF split antenna panels are aimed from NE-NW, so If WHPS is still transmitting from Radio Place along I-96 I should be getting something from them off the back side regardless.

Re: WWJ signal problems?

... 760 WJR has sounded terrible lately... I rarely give ears to WJR. However, last week, listening in the car, they were carrying MSU football, which throughout sounded like the worst glitchy cell phone connection ever (same low quality today BTW), Happened by Fox Sports on SiriusXM, carrying the ...

I will have to listen later, radios in the computer room have too narrow bandwidth to give a full audio reproduction.
Location of reporting users ?
Sounded much better later in the morning.

WWJ signal problems? (+ WJR audio distortion)

Was trying to listen to WWJ this morning, ahead of the THREE HOUR :eek UM pregame block. Very weak signal, almost overwhelmed by local electrical noise, and lots of crackling and breakup on audio peaks. Something obviously amiss!

WKBD's on-air feeds are controlled from a hub facility in Atlanta. So, their fault.
