Re: Separation of Church and State restored
Life begins with a healthy delivery. Just so I am clear because I truly don't want to misunderstand. A woman could be in active labor at 40 weeks with, by available medical measure, a healthy baby/fetus/thing and you would be fine with an abortion? I know you and me and others are fond of cherry pi...

Re: Turn DOWN your thermostat! Really?!
Most furnaces have only one speed, unless it’s multi-stage, which few people have. They’re on or they’re off, not variable speed. So none of them are going 100 mph or 30 mph. They’re all going the same speed. It’s the amount of time on that is the variable. And, like I said, if a furnace can’t main...

Re: Separation of Church and State restored
Here in good old Ann Arbor I attend a truly multicultural church that leans pretty left by church standards. If I had to guess I would be comfortable saying 70%-90% of the congregation is more likely to vote for a democratic than a republican. So I am around God believing, Jesus believing, political...

It does seem odd doesn't it? I wonder how he feels about the Trump wall? I'm guessing somewhere near 80%- 90% of the immigration from south of the border are Christians and a majority of those Catholic.

Re: Separation of Church and State restored
I'll make it easy, I don't believe life begins when you think it does. Since you have made some disparaging remarks about those who think differently than you I'm curious what you do think. When do you think "life begins"? Or to put it another way when do you think it's too late for an elective abo...

Re: Florida Bill Would Require Teaching of "Alternate Science"
As a slight sidebar I am a science fan and a science believer*
*science has been known throughout history to "correct itself" when new data, discoveries, observations dictate. So one needs to realize that what seems like "science" now may or may not hold up 20 years from now.

The alternative to the utility companies is pretty much the 19th century. I know can it's popular to bang on them and blame them every time something goes wrong. I also know they are far from perfect. But they also supply their product 24-7-365 and unlike Home Depot who can run out of salt or the di...

If it's not this bitter I skip the goose down coat. My avatar is me at the dog park on a sub 20 degree day. The wind at the dog park is relentless unlike the wind in the neighborhood that is broken up by houses and trees.

I'm retired. But my cold weather attire for outside.... Insulated boots. I have removable felt lined for bitter cold Regular jeans with baggie sweat pants over the top then a set of insulated Carhartt style bib overalls for my lower parts. Shirtwise an insulated "long john" style under shirt. Then a...

Re: Kentucky governor says America is weak
I don't think America is "weak" so much as ill equipped for unusual events. Ill equipped can be understandable if the event in question is rare. My youngest daughter has lived in Lexington Ky for almost 14 years and they are ill equipped to handle 2 inches of snow. If it snows 2-3 inches in Lexingto...

Re: Kentucky governor says America is weak
The Fairbanks Alaska school system sets -20F as the cutoff point for kids playing outside at recess. This cold is unusual for southern Michigan but that is a bit subjective. Those kids in Alaska are not biologically different they just have different cold weather gear. https://lh3.googleusercontent....

I appreciate the feedback ZenithCKLW. I went through the apps on my phone and checked the permissions. I guess I already limited most of them to what was minimally necessary. A couple I scaled back

Other than tailoring ads to hopefully give you things of interest what are your concerns?
