Re: Jennifer Granholm

With all due respect you don't recognize the facts when she was governor. When she was in office the US economy feel to the level of the Great Depression. She worked with a budget/$'s that was minuscule. Working first with President Bush and then President Obama helped save the auto industry. All do...

Re: Then, there's this.....

Somethings are so simple to me in local newscasts I cannot begin WXYZ doesn't do it. WDIV does it. Cannot speak to Fox2 because I don't watch. 4 has two sportscasters and 7 four. Without question Detroit is a sports town with a bunch of teams. Daily web Freep and News have item after item on sports....

Re: Dan Leach

I don't know this guy but have you every wondered how people with little talent – let me repeat talent, get hired in a major market radio like Detroit? Only thing I can imagine is PD's and GM's don't understand what it takes and what the market wants. And of course the cost. What I have seen in the ...

Re: WOMC adding 90s music

As reported in Men's Health magazine 33 is the age when men tune out current hits and tune in to popular music of their youth. This often coincides with becoming a father.

Re: WOMC adding 90s music

This month's Mens Health magazine published that average age 33 is when men tune out current hits and tune in to popular music of their youth. This often coincides with becoming a father. That's why Classic Hits and Classic Rock stations are updating the play list.

Re: Then, there's this.....

This is a giant national and international story even featured on BBC and Russian TV. Also in New York papers, Chicago Tribune, New York Times, LA Times that I read, cable news channels and all three networks all sending anchors/reporters to Flint– This is a big big story. Without a question it is a...

Re: Why has this place become so cynical and sarcastic?

Our Board is different than many top market boards. You use your real name and your email address is posted when you make a comment or reply. The result is top professionals participate and people not connected to the industry generally don't participate. No one takes shots. In NY WPLJ that was very...

Re: Nash fm 93-1 WDRQ

Detroit's NASH isn't going anywhere in my opinion. The NASH "network" has succeeded with national spot buys even with low ratings in most markets. The ratings go up like NY WNSH in nearby Morristown, NJ #4 in the market with 5.0. Adding the call letters also makes sense. To my knowledge every other ...

Re: Then, there's this.....

Ronnie Dahl went fishing for a rubber duck in a hole where a contractor is overdue to fill the hole in after tearing the house down... "The ducks not biting"... Why does Channel 7 let her do this crap? It could be a good mature beat but she's really not a very good reporter (ahem fisherman) and can...

Re: Then, there's this.....

One that just cracked me up on Monday Morning... WDIV (of course) did a story on hot dogs. It turns out that 19% of vegetarian hot dogs have meat in them. 2% of meat ones have human DNA... YIKES!. Then they break for commercials.... National Coney Island!! It don't get no better than that! Hebrew N...

Re: Then, there's this.....

Heather Catallo (or the copy probably) just called out Rupert Murdoch for spelling offense "offence" saying that he might want to use spell check on his next tweet. Not only is this unprofessional (I mean cmon man) but he's British.... The preferred spelling of offense in Britain is.... Offence. Oo...
