Re: Going 4 it: The inside story of the rise of WDIV
I'm guessing NBC's Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving special will be moved to Cozy, along with the Macy's parade.

Re: WTAN Clearwater FL
WTAN's business model sounds similar to WSNR-AM 620, Jersey City, New Jersey. Evenings/overnights and weekends are mostly infomercials with a lot of Jewish programming. Any unsold blocks of time are reverted back to "Davidzon Radio" which airs Russian programming primarily weekdays from 6:00 AM to 7...

Re: KGO 810 format change
KGO probably was the crappier financial performer of the two, since most of KGO's weekday lineup was live and local, where as I think KSFO has a local morning show, but the rest of their schedule is national talk from Westwood One and Premiere Networks. The two stations shared a few weekend "pay to ...

Re: KGO 810 format change
Those "pay to play" infomercials are probably on Cumulus's conservative talker in the bay area, AM 560 KSFO. Ric Edelman moved his "The Truth About Your Future" and Edelman Financial Engine's "Everyday Wealth" there as of last Saturday.

Re: KGO 810 format change
OMG! Thanks for posting this as I hadn't listened to KGO today, but was a H*** fan going back many years as well. I always thought they were the best in political talk, by not defining themselves as either "progressive" or "conservative" talk, though admittedly many of their hosts were left of cente...

Re: Buckeye Country 103.7 CKY
On a side note, a bit surprised they dropped all their Nascar racing coverage. Not saying all country music fans are Nascar fans or vice-versa, but there definitely is some overlap. Maybe that's more of a statement about Nascar as none of the other Toledo area stations, (no matter the format) picked...

Re: Tiger's radio
Speaking of Oakland, as bad as the team is, I do enjoy their radio play by play. They're available for free on iHeart Radio via A's cast. Their announcers Ken Korak and Vince Catronio seem to make the best of a bad situation. Appologies if I misspelled their last names.

Re: NFL Football on Toledo radio
Dayton has some loyal Browns fans, but definitely has many more Bengles fans. I was reminded of that every week during the NFL season, back when I lived there. As for Toledo, it's hard for me to believe 100.7 The Ticket/94.5 XKR won't renew their contract to simulcast the Browns, as they did much of...

Re: WDIV Local 4 preempting MLB on NBC this Sunday
Quick side note: I noticed NBC moved all of their coverage of this weekend's Detroit Grand Prix to Peacock and USA, so WDIV won't be able to show any of it live. In recent years, NBC Universal had both days of races on their main NBC network.

Re: WDIV Local 4 preempting MLB on NBC this Sunday
So, you could either stream it on Peacock, or, if you get another NBC station such as WNWO in Toledo, you could watch it there. I didn't see it listed on any of WDIV's subchannels either.

WDIV Local 4 preempting MLB on NBC this Sunday
Going through the TV listings and noticed WDIV is not airing NBC's MLB game between the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox, this Sunday, May 8 at 11:30. What's worse, they're preempting this game for a few infomercials, an old episode of Jeopardy and an episode of Inside Edition. I know WDIV occas...

question about Salem Media Group/Audacy in Detroit
Is Audacy purchasing Detroit's "Salem Media Group" stations? I recently heard a top of hour id for WDTK-AM 1400 / FM 101.5 in Detroit. It ended with "A service of Salem Media Group, an Audacy station." I know Salem uses Audacy as their primary streaming partner, but was surprised to hear a Salem sta...

Re: Michael Jackson (radio host) passes
Wow! Sad to hear that, though I knew his health had been failing in recent years. He was one of my favorite hosts in the 1980s and his "TalkRadio" syndicated show was on WXYZ/WXYT-AM 1270 Detroit from 1982-1985. RIP.
