Re: WMVP Downgrade
Still see no CP or anything about a downgrade at WMVP, on the FCC AM Querry page. Or the Radiolocater listing

Re: WMVP Downgrade
Ju I know there is a AMBC transmitter site with (maybe) 6 towers for WYLL 1160 near Joliet, They still can be heard well in the Detroit area at night, even with one small lobe in night pattern our way. Now that WCXI 1160, 15 kW has moved into my neighborhood , WYLL is no longer heard here.

Re: FM Antenna Price Inflation and Performance Deflation?
DIY antennas are my thing. But the price of wire, coax, twinlead, light metal tubing, and various insulators , have gone out of reach with the current economy. I am starting to forget "L in Ft = 468/F in MHz" !

Re: WMVP Downgrade
Just took a look at RadioLocator and the FCC AM Querry pages, and WMVP has no CP listed for this downgrade ! Must be inside info! I recall when it was WCFL. Drove past the three mismatched towers (not quite in a line) many times when I lived there. I know there is a AMBC transmitter site with (maybe...

Re: TV AMP
I would try a bigger and higher antenna before investing in a preamp. A preamp may be best for overcoming the losses of an extra long coax line from ant to TV. Like a circuitous routing for a Coax cable thru the house , before it gets to the TV receiver. An other example, when I moved to the far sub...

Re: Hum in am signal
I have worked with remote controlled Two Way Radio base stations with telco links for 4 decades+ and even a high resistance leakage on one side of a DC pair can induce hum into the audio. A "split pair" with one wire from one twisted pair in a cable, to the other wire from a different pair connected...

Re: Another antenna question
I hear the AM pretty well on my Amateur radio recievers with a 250 ft Dipole but I was looking for some FMHD reception as welll with a JVC aftermarket auto radio . Just hoping to get away from the noise on AM. The high Z input for a car radio, on the AM side, is a problem. 50 or 75 Ohm coax feedline...

Re: 910 WFDF
Recalling Flint AM Stations The tall tower of the three seems to have an FMBC antenna on top now. Pretty sure it's been there a while... I Get up that way now and then and can still see the tall and two short towers. OK.... I now recall the towers right at Dort hiway were WFNT 1470 and the three to...

Another antenna question
I have been considering running more coax to get my AM/FM 36 " auto antenna away from the house and noise on AM. Currently it uses the incorperated high Z (maybe 90+ Ohms) Shieded fine wire coax and a 12 ft extension coax made for the auto radio design.. I was thinking of using some Cable TV grade R...

Re: CKSY completely wiping out Royal Oak Twp translator at 94.3
I’m spending the weekend at the family cottage outside of Lexington. The WBTI stick is less than 2 miles from me, so it usually booms in. But last night, it was struggling and fading in and out. Something was making its way in but I couldn’t identify it. This morning I did a bandscan on my Eton Min...
