Re: Radio tower locations
Still love the WJR Art Deco transmitter building, and the WSPD glass block transmitter building that was replicated at several other transmitter sites. Question, wasn't someone going to do something on Eight Mile Road and restore the WWJ transmitter building to its former glory as a restaurant? Yes...

Re: WCXI at reduced power?
Strange. My wife and I went out to get craft supplies yesterday. As she shopped, I did a sweep of the AM band in NW Toledo. This was a good 4 hours before sunset. To my surprise, many stations on the upper half of the band were interfering with other, fading in and out. Though the band sounded more ...

Re: Toledo Station For Sale
Delmarva paid just over 100k for 106.5, Cumulus donated a lion share of what the station, basically a tax write off. I knew a religious broadcaster would wind up with 106.5. Back in later 1998, Dudley sold the station for around 2 Mil if I recall to Cumulus. Talk about a good move for him, then 22 ...

Re: Perrysburg Township AM's off the air
UPDATE:
We went to a pizza buffet restaurant this evening.
Not only was WPAY silent, but they had no carrier, either.
To make it worse, there were no beacon lights on the towers - that is, if there are any towers there anymore.
Update 2. The WPAY towers are still there.

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
"These will be their ATSC 1.0 simulcasts: 15.1 MyNetworkTV will be on WOOD's signals 15.2 Cozi will be on will be on WXMI's signals 15.3 CourtTV Mystery will be on WWMT's signal" Can anyone confirm if 15.3 is actually CourtTV Mystery? I can't get that signal. If so, why would it need to move to WWM...

Re: Perrysburg Township AM's off the air
Looking at FCC apps, it appears that 1520 is including their low powered 92.1 translator, but now, if it's a typo or not, showing the 2nd translator on channel 277 or 103.3MHz. Wondering if it's a mistake as the FM they are swapping out of state with EMF in on 103.3 there, so confused about the 94....

Re: WUDT 23
I don't even notice WUDT 23 signal since I delete it from my channel list anytime I am forced to do a rescan. WHNE-LD on 3 has been going in and out lately, I wonder if it weather related or if they are messing with their antenna set up. I might have to make a Lo-VHF antenna and mount it next to my...

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
The technology certainly exists today to pack two full HD signals (1080i even) onto the same RF channel with excellent picture quality, while still leaving room for additional 480i streams to boot. I suspect WOOD-TV will upgrade to accommodate HD transmission for WXSP. WTVS proves your point with D...

Re: WJR News Analysts
What's the outside chance of WJR pulling-off a Detroit version of WSM? Could they stockpile the station with enough talent to run a Top-5 country station in market #14? Full-service Country with news every 30 minutes and simulcast the Grand Ole Opry on the same nights? I know they're flipping/firin...

Re: Downriver AM transmitters
I know one area station that is NOT aimed North , located near Mt Clements on 1030 with daylight operation only ! Aimed south west to protect WBZ ! WUFL ! In its beginning, it was beaming to the North with two towers, and not that many people got an excellent signal from it. About 5 years in, they ...

Re: Radio tower locations
Looking at the History Cards, WKNR-FM 100.3 moved to 8009 Lyndon St., licensed 9-15-66, after being on one of the WKNR 1310 towers. When they were on 1540, they were 1 kW nondirectional. When they moved to 1310, at first they were 1 kW nondirectional. I think then they went to 5 kW DA with 2 towers...

Re: Radio tower locations
About 98.7:
The top of the tower has an antenna with five circular-polarized bays, spread equally and widely separated from each tower.
However, about 3/4 way up the tower, there are eight circularly polarized bays, those bays are very close to each other. Whose antenna is that?

Re: WUDT 23
I'm surprised that they put full-service TV stations about 30 miles apart on RF channels 22 and 23.
22 is WBGU-TV, I had no problem getting them until WNWO went up on 23.
Now I very rarely get WBGU. Instead of getting a-one-anna-two on weekends.
