In other words Sinclair will not be sending Sam to The Super Bowl if the Lions make it in about a months time.
If the Lions make it to Vegas, I envision WEYI / WSMH farming its coverage out to WWMT, or even to Las Vegas sister station KSNV.

i'm watching NBC NiCollector'sghtlyCallNews right now. What a mess.
If they can't fix this and still insist on doing things like this, they should add a disclaimer when they make these announcements that the viewing of the moved show in its entirety is not guaranteed.

Re: WDIV Is Unwatchable

ProducerXM - trust me when I say it's not quite as awful as NBC's scheduled programming for 7PM (which is airing on MeTV 4.3). Deal or No Deal Island is in the running for worst new television series this season, in my book. I saw the ad for that last night… it looked rather odd… The way their MeTV...

Why bother carrying Nightly News on a subchannel at all if this always happens? If they decide to preempt it, they shouldn't bother carrying it at all.

Re: 5's New Logo

Does anyone know the official reason why the CBS logo was dropped from most of the on screen logos? It just doesn't look good without it. I don't know, but it's a goddamn travesty. My guess had to do with network negotiations with CBS, or perhaps, another network. Most of Gray's NBC affiliates have...

Re: Audacy files Chapter 11

Partly, I was trying to get some of you riled up, like you're always trying to do to me, by suggesting that it should go to religion or foreign language. Foreign language programming would probably be the best use of 1270, in my opinion. A downright shame, considering that it was a legacy station t...

Re: WANE 15 5PM News Then Inside Edition

Was not uncommon in the late 1980s and 1990s for a station to have 5PM news, then a syndicated program, then 6PM news.

Good catch on Alpena. Forget that it’s an actual TV market with one single owner.
And technically, one commercial TV station, with a major network on each of its subchannels -- though just enough to claim a "monopoly" on TV media.

If they’re going to be so damn half assed about running the station and their news operation, then just sell the damn station to someone who gives 2 shits about news.
Knowing Sinclair, they would rather just keep the station and replace the news department with The National Desk.

Re: WJBK/Fox 2 75th anniversary special

I've heard WKBD planned a show with WKNR's Gary Stevens, but Gary left for New York shortly after WKBD signed on in early 1965, so the show may not have made it to air. The only dance program in the Kaiser / Field chain that I knew of was Hy Lit's show from WKBS Philadelphia -- I imagine for some s...

All I know is Power 96 seems like a much more fun radio station than the present day WDVD (whose calls perhaps mean "We're Detroit's Venereal Disease")!
When I think of "DVD", I think more of those movies on small discs the size of CDs.

Re: No Packers on FOX UP....

I remember the short life of WMQF-19 too. They showed Lions games and half the time they couldn't get the network feed of the game to work. They had NO local presence whatsoever. Which was typical of stations owned by Equity Media Holdings, in which everything ran out of Little Rock and transmitted...

WEMU had to put a WJIM-TV/WLNS translator in Ann Arbor to get the interference population counts down.
If only to appease the station and the FCC, as Ann Arbor was within the Detroit market.

I'm surprised more hospice care facilities and funeral homes don't advertise on WJR. It's their demo.
That is the demo. Along with Geritol complete, hemorrhoid surgery done dirt cheap, and Adjustable toilets seats! :D
Reminds me of WKRP in Cincinnati before they flipped to rock in 1978.

Well, I wish one of the other stations in our DMA would pick up the Movies and CatchyComedy channels.
Would their cancellation of the licenses nullify their carriage contracts? I believe they held market-wide rights, yet they only covered just a small fraction of the market.
