Re: CBS Names Kim Voet GM of WFOR-WBFS Miami

I think that has shifted as News is now the primary focus of local TV and the News department is by far the largest department in the building. Local sales to local retailers is no longer the main revenue source but political ads bought in bulk by the parties and PACs. Thus the local sales manager i...

Re: Ameera David is leaving Channel 7

Kim Russell is no longer listed on the WXYZ staff page. You can get to her old direct WXYZ profile link from Google, but her picture is missing. When did she leave? There is no announcement on her social media and she hasn't posted anything related to WXYZ news since the first week of May. Her Link...

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Back in the day 7 would have 5 live shots in the noon and 2 full time anchors. Now it has the bare minimum of resources dedicated to it and a revolving door of anchors pressed into doing it in addition to their normal duties.

Re: WADL to be sold to Nexstar (through Mission Broadcasting)

Seems like Kevin will be paying his taxes with the proceeds, both his outstanding tax bill and the capital gains from the sale. I'm sure he's trying to negotiate a lesser amount than what is due.

Re: Reporters taking on issues that literally nobody cares about

That was Ronnie's thing at 7 in Detroit. It is something she feels passionate about and she genuinely feels bad for the people who live in blighted neighborhoods. However when not exposed to blight on the daily as most suburbanites are not it doesn't register how bad it is for the community. I hope ...

Re: Audio person during Hall of Shame segments

Unintended consequence of automating the control rooms is that it is now hard to find people to fill ...

Re: U.S. sports broadcaster misses payment to MLB team as it nears bankruptcy, sources say

The article is short on details, why only Arizona right now? Will they miss other payments to other teams? Are they trying to be strategic on which networks they will fold and which ones they keep? Even after not making this payment will they for the time being still broadcast the Diamondback games?...
