Yup, September 30, 1974 to be exact. At this time in 1973 LAV-FM was still an automated oldies format. So in reality next year is their 50th anniversary as an AOR/Classic Rock station.

The NFL still has to do some work on their OT rules. For only 1 team to get the ball in overtime, even if they did score a touchdown is bogus. Both teams NEED to have at least 1 possession. Still having games decided by who wins the coin toss in overtime is unacceptable.

I was up in Fremont today and scanning the FM band and noticed the River was missing in action. Got back to our place in Newaygo and can't hear it here either. I thought they may have been off the air. I'll have to check the signal when we return to GR either tomorrow or Tuesday.

I just happily made my twice a month sojourn to the post office. Being fully retired, it's one of the highlights in my life. In a few days my mortgage company, utilities and my kids college loan processors will all be happy campers. : )

I've noticed that too MW. Their signal is not near as strong as it used to be on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids. I used to listen to them a lot in the early 2000's, but due to a poor signal mostly unlistenable now.

Why would you scratch your head over One Bad Apple at #1? That damned song was #1 everywhere in early 1971. When my wife and I got out to dinner, we usually tip at least 5 dollars for anything under 25 dollars. Over 25 dollars, which now a days it usually is, we tip 20 percent. The only exception to that would be if the service left something to be desired.
