Re: Blarney Stone Broadcasting

From reading this be board some time ago,it sounded like 1100 WJML had made significant improvements at the transmitter site after Mitten News took over. They have been off the air for some months now due to lack of being profitable according to FCC filings I believe. wJNL 1210AM meanwhile, recently r...

Re: Blarney Stone Broadcasting

In reality, Finster was their engine in this market, Can't say for sure, but from all the little tibits I've heard,it strongly sounds like Finster was fired by Blarney Stone. Just a random thought from a guy who is not in the radio biz, Would it be feasible or make sense for Smile FM to purchase the...

Blarney Stone Broadcasting

Just heard from a very reliable source that 106.3 and the 101.1 translator in the Traverse City area are off the air indefinitely.

Re: Whitmer repeals right-to-work, reinstates prevailing wage in Michigan

Recently started a job making 22.55 an hour at Saralee frozen Bakery in Traverse City which is unionized.During a week long orientation, union reps said they negotiated a new contract with the plant that just kicked in on December 5th 2022.My questions are, will I have to eventually pay union dues o...

Guessing,if this station goes back on air @100.7,it would displace Good News Media's Cadillac translator.

Re: 94.1 WHST now on the air

WHST has been on the air for about 2 months now.WLEw-AM is a station I at times listen to on the tune in radio app. A story about WLEW,back in the mid 1950's my mom,who attended Our Lady Of the Lake High School in Harbor Beach, anomisilly dedicated a love song between two of her class mates who were...

Re: Jack O’Malley back on the radio

Considering how so many people are "phoning it in" these days, let's just say that I find it hard to believe that Jack O'Malley has *physically* relocated to Alpena. I ain't buyin' it. I'm surprised if it's true, but I have from VERY GOOD SOURCES that O'Malley is now a resident of the east side of t...

Re: Jack O’Malley back on the radio

Even though it's very unlikely, maybe just maybe, this Jack O''Malley guy is thinking about someday representing the Alpena area in state politics someday.

Not sure if omelette and Finster had diffences or not.It was so long ago,but I believe Finster was let go by Northern Broadcasting for budgetary reasons.

Re: Surprise format change in Alpena

Assuming I heard right,Jack O'Malley will soon be working for Midwestern's Alpena cluster. If true, not sure if it would be an on or off air position.Either way,I would have to imagine he would be working remotely from the Traverse City area.
